"The Executive Officer will appear before the tribunal on the morning of May 25th. According to the CEP, the questions will revolve around 'Admiral Yanala's orders on the day of the Battle for Caldari Prime, her subsequent observance or refusal of those orders, whether the chain of command was properly followed in issuing the orders, the technical status of the cloning facility in which the Admiral was to have cloned, and the issues surrounding her clone's failure to properly activate.'"

This seems like a major step in the investigation. Hopefully, though, the tribunal will recognize that a technical failure of Yanala-haani's cloning bay is unlikely to be a matter to lay at Erinen-haani's feet, unless she was aware of lapses that she made no effort to correct.

Still, if this tribunal is public, then we will likely get answers to many of the questions posed in this forum. Hopefully, clarity will lay many of the conspiracy theories to rest.

Until another cease and desist order from Heth is handed to them from a CPD spook.

To be honest, if he tried the same thing in this instance, I think they would (in no polite manner) tell him to bugger off.

It's a good thing no one has ever lied under oath.

"She will testify under oath, utilizing advanced stress gauges, facial analysis, and military linguistic algorithms to appraise the factuality of her statements."

If she's lying, she'd better be a damned good one.

Ms. Vitalia; which is why the CEP is employing the technology it is to verify Erinen-haani's testimony.

Anslo; the CPD has certainly intervened in cases before, but I can't imagine why they would in this case. There's nothing for them to gain, and they would surely be grossly overstepping their bounds if they attempted to intervene in a CEP tribunal of such great importance.

Eh, now that you mention it, the CPD and Heth wouldn't gain much would they? They'd actually loose face if they did it again with THIS case. But the lying thing could be an issue. Hopefully they check her for implants, both bio and mecha, to ensure she isn't modified to be a better liar. Same with the equipment in terms of being tampered. Hopefully it'll be newly constructed and provided by a third party.

I don't know why the Officer would lie, but still...better safe than sorry.

So they are pulling out the fancy tools for this questioning? Seems a bit too much, but I guess if you are going to do it, you better do it right, first time.

And the public is willing to trust the veracity of this monitoring 'equipment' ?

A related concept to also consider with this equipment:

It's not a lie if the person speaking it believes it to be true.

While the CEP has a natural and justifiable interest in verifying Erinen-haani's testimony, it would be a terrible mark against Erinen-haani's character if she failed to do her duty: provide honest, thorough, and detailed testimony to the State and its citizens about the events surrounding the Caldari Prime incident.

We may theorize all we like about lies under oath, or CPD involvement, but these theories still rest in the shadow of the imagined conspiracies that have been put forth on this forum.

Perhaps we all may do better to simply wait for the tribunal, instead of constructing a web of theories that will bias us against the proceedings.

I am confident that Executive Officer Mininela Erinen will not wish to dishonour the memory of Admiral Yanala and the integrity of the Caldari Navy by doing anything other than giving full and frank testimony as to the events in question.

I await the outcome of this questioning by the CEP and urge them to leave no stone unturned in their intent to establish the truth of the matter.

I do hope adequate security is being provided for Executive Officer Mininela Erinen. I fear for her safety.

That's actually a good point. Is she under protective custody? Who's guarding her? And by guard, I don't mean imprison. I mean guard and make sure she's safe and sound (and untouched) for the trial.

Erinen-haani is the highest figure in the Caldari Navy. Security in her office and at her residence is likely considerable.

Seems the CEP aren't taking any risks on this one, hopefully people will let people get on with the investigation without constant criticism of their methods and lack of public knowledge this time.

Though personally I believe unless the Executive Officer is already in protective custody, they already gave out more details than they should.

Because bringing the Minmatar incident into this is clearly needed.

Possibly.

However, the Chief Executive Panel is lead by the megacorps, and I don't see what they would have to gain from inaccurate results in the testimony.

While I only know her from reputation, Mininela Erinen has never struck me as incompetent. You don't become the head of the Caldari Navy if you don't know what's going on.

Oh I'm just making a general point, too many nosey people thinking they're special snowflakes across the board.

I'm just hoping we don't get cries of a coverup every five ******* minutes we don't hear something. Last thing we need is more pointless hysteria and conspiracy theories.
