The launcher will one day get "fixed" and become functional. Assuming it starts to work in the way it was intended, this means launching the game will go straight to the character select screen and bypass the startup music and background completely.

It may seem like one of those "small things" that is utterly pointless to comment on, but startup music is an eve tradition. It's been happening since 2003 and now they're starting the second decade by axing it. The startup music was what got me immersed into EVE after a long day of real life. You would associate the startup music with EVE, and when that plays, all the great ideas of what you were about to do next would flow in and real life would become a hazy dream until you returned to it.

Throwing you straight to the character select screen removes a tradition and kind of edges you into the immersion. It's now more like "mkay, i'm playing eve..." rather than "YES. I AM A PART OF SOMETHING." kind of feeling when you start the game.

So I'm going to start this petition. You can sign it if you agree with bringing back this tradition. If we don't act fast, Odyssey might be the first expansion not to have startup music at all.
