Maybe we should be allowed to shoot all white & blue wrecks? Its worth a discussion.
Shooting whites though is funny where its sometimes a concordable ofence & somethimes i isn't due to fleeting rules & corp/alliance ownership versus fleet lootablility.

Good to see you're taking your loss on the chin there. I think wrecks do need to be fleshed out more in the tutorial since salvaging is a good way of making that early amount of money and the salvaging tutorial doesn't cover the do's and don'ts about wrecks well.

Well, if it helps I once lost a Machariel and its deadspace mods to CONCORD from shooting a can. A red can.

Luckily, contrary to popular belief, the logs did show something, and I got it back.

Not to worry, I replaced both ships quite easily and then built a catalyst and ganked a retriever to make up for the losses. Then they activated a 0isk killright on my, so now imma be dodging everyone until I can get back out to nul with the rest of my corp.

For future reference, safety yellow lets you steal stuff, but safety green allows you to look at it before you steal. You could have done all that you did without turning your safety off at all.

This I wasn't aware of either.

Does anyone else think the safety breaks eve a little? I mean I don't want this to turn into one of "those" threads, but it just makes it more fiddly doesn't it?

Have you seen EVE before the safety system? It was similar but more confusing, and there was always a way to exploit it due to any tiny programming error somewhere.

The new system has redundancy, and it is clear how it works. I like it and I don't see any problems with it. I think everyone should understand how highsec works. If it gives people too much power in highsec, then I think that's a problem with what highsec offers, not the safety system.

I shot a blue wreck last night. It was not a corp or fleetmate's and I had my safety on.

I think the blue wreck you shot was a white square.

Nope, it was a wreck. I know what I'm shooting at. Even if I'm shooting by accident, I still know what I'm shooting.

I've been on EVE for a long time now. Yes, I preferred it without the safety. Cheers for the rundown though.
