Consolidated list of quality of life improvements

If you like someone's Idea then please "like" their post.

I thought it would be a good Idea to have a thread dedicated to minor changes in EVE that can improve the game for the better.

The little things tend to go a long way, for example CCP's changes to the position of Star Gates and how they are actually pointed at the system in the universe they throw you to. Or how they added a redeem items feature to the escape menu. Another example would be the "required for" tab implemented in the information window of an item. These things, whilst minor are great for the game.

If anyone is interested I can update the list with popular features and ideas after they have been discussed and agreed upon in this thread or elsewhere.

Please take in to consideration before posting an idea:

  • Potential resources and dev time to implement the idea (the smaller the better)
  • Beating a dead horse (an idea that has come up countless times before but has been negatively received by the commnunity)
  • The outcome of the idea and how it could effect players in a positive or negative way

Good Ideas should/could:

Idea Improve the immersion of the game
Idea Be handy, something that is going to save time on an otherwise unnecessarily long procedure.
Idea Cut down on anything monotonous/tedious, take CCP's recent Exploration overhaul coming in Odyssey.
Idea Relay information more efficiently and with more ease.
Idea Improve a new players experience of the game

These are just a few things to think about, there are no doubt more things to take in to consideration but you get the idea I'm sure. So, having read the above. Let's discuss your ideas and mine to make EVE even better and if they prove to be popular we can add them to the list.

So I'll make the first suggestion.

Idea The option to assort character skills by the number of skill levels obtained. (Highest to lowest and vice versa)

Arrow Currently skills are displayed alphabetically in their skill tree. This proposal would give us the option to assort the skills by their skill level. This will reduce the time it takes to look through the skill sheet and find the skills you want to work on. Whilst also adding more structure and organisation to the skill sheet itself.

Before:

Caldari Drone Specialisation - 4
Combat Drone Operation - 5
Drone Durability - 4
Drones - 5
Repair Drone Operation - 2
Scout Drone Operation - 5

After:

Repair Drone Operation - 2
Caldari Drone Specialisation - 4
Drone Durability - 4
Combat Drone Operation - 5
Drones - 5
Scout Drone Operation - 5

Reversed:

Combat Drone Operation - 5
Drones - 5
Scout Drone Operation - 5
Caldari Drone Specialisation - 4
Drone Durability - 4
