My ship keeps jerking off against space debris when it tries to align

Ok so after this mission, I try to warp back to base but theres some space junk between the base and my ship. I feel completely powerless as I watch my ship wobble back and forth trying to align with the space station. Is there anything I can do to make this less painful?

Seriously this game should give you way to change your ship direction that doesn't limit you to approaching objects. This makes the game feel more like gimmicky RTS where you control a single unit than a role playing spaceship pilot
For example, they could make holding the 'W' key make your ship tilt upwards, 'S' tilt the ship downwards, 'A' tilt the ship to left and 'D' tilt the ship to the right. Then holding 'E' would make the ship accelerate, while holding 'Q' would make your ship decelerate. This would be a step towards making the player feel like an actual space ship pilot.

Since I can't post anywhere else, I also think the player should be allowed to use modules at reduced powered for reduced fitting requirements. For example if my cap battery requires 30 powergrid to fit, I could allocate 20 powergrid to the cap battery for 50% of the original capacity boost. Conversely 40 powergrid could be allocated to the cap battery for 120% of the original capacity boost. Max efficiency would be achieved at using the module at 100% fitting requirements but this would vastly increase the number of possible builds in the game and allow much greater customization. While flying the ship, the pilot could also redistribute the powergrid as he sees fit to overpower/underpower modules to make this game more interactive.

Obviously you never heard about double clicking in empty space to "manually" fly your ship?

p.s. Less whining will get you more useful answers.

All the other idea...well, NO...they won't work in EVE.

WASD controls will **** up the game...the acceleration/deceleration is already there.

Never looked at different modules...there are meta levels for a reason...most of the time they give the same boosts for lower fitting requirements.

Really, you think that after 11 days and having 0 knowledge about EVE you have the privilege to make suggestions. I suggest learn the game first before opting ideas.

Yea he is kinda mad I guess v0v

Basically you need to right click in space away from the debris and burn away from it for a bit before realigning to your destination.

Mission trash, stargates, stations, other ships and pretty much anything you can bounce off will not allow you to align out.

...um...it does...that double-click in space in the direction you want to go thing?...yeah...
In EVE you command your ships, not WASD twitch-pilot them. Different approach than some other games.

Re-orient by rotating your camera and double-clicking in space, like you learned in the tutorial that you surely must have done before logging on to complain, because not to have done the tutorials before whining about things in those tutorials would make you look extremely foolish. Obviously you just forgot.

*cough*

Firstly, this doesn't really work with a freely orientable view, you need a fixed view for that to make any sense whatsoever. You're looking for a flight sim, like the wing commander series or descent.

Secondly, you're not playing a ship pilot. You're playing a cyborg that's displacing the command staff of a ship with a full crew of between 30 and 1000 people. Giving orders and then them being carried out is a much closer approximation of what commanding a ship is like.

Thirdly, there are a number of things that can be hotkeyed, press escape and in that menu there's a tab for various navigational shortcuts like acceleration, stopping, approaching, orbiting, maintaining distance, etc.

Actually, your entire post should be in the new features and ideas discussion forum. Cutting you a bit of slack because you're pretty clueless about the game so I don't entirely expect you to understand how a forum works.

That would be great if fitting was supposed to be some minor aside that you throw together with little impact on gameplay. If you look at the number and variety of skills and modules altering fitting stats, though, you should quickly realize that that's not the case, and in fact ship fitting is one of the major elements of the game.

If you're having issues getting modules to fit, look into the Engineering and Electronics skills and modules like power controls, power diagnostic units, and reactor control units, or cap rechargers for capacitor issues. There are Rigs that can give you more to work with as well.

If you're bouncing around like a ball in a tumble drier while attempting to warp you'll need to stop your warp before you can double click in space to change direction, CTRL Space will stop your warp and allow you to do the double click thing. Collision bounding boxes are a pain in the arse, but it's something you learn to deal with fairly quickly.

Pushing a WASD flight control control system will merely get you ridiculed on the forums, it's been discussed to death and you bring nothing new to the party.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

You are the one that sounds mad about stuff...not me.

I know the game mechanics and never get angry for my own failure to learn stuff and bump into things.

And did a check...you haven't seen any combat at all...so please SU about it being dull. First get combat experience, then complain it's dull.

But...

7/10 troll, I took the bait.

Your other posts where of a much higher quality.

You're no longer a new player but you are a newb, as opposed to a noob, there is a difference. TBH some players who've been playing since beta still consider themselves newbs because there is so much that they don't know about in Eve outside of their own fields of expertise.

Not sure if "JERKING OFF against space debris" is the right way to phrase this. I laughed and expected something else when I came here.

If you want more than 100% out of a module, learn Thermodynamics which allows you to an additional 10 to 20% out of a module (also known as "overheating")
Also, there are skills, modules and implants which give additional Powergrid/CPU/Capacitor or reduce Powergrid/CPU/capacitor needs.

See, it´s already there, you only have to learn about it!

Ok so after work I try to go back home but theres some junk between home and my car. I feel completely powerless as I watch my car wobble back and forth trying to drive over the rubbish bins. Is there anything I can do to make this less painful?

Seriously there should be a way to change your direction that doesn't limit you to approaching buildings.

Like they should add some kind of steering system where you turn a wheel device one way and your car should go in that direction and because it's a wheel you can quite accurately adjust the angle of your turn as well.

I felt this problem was similar to the OP so I posted here instead of making another unnecessary thread.
