Eve is a complicated game. Im doing tons of research and posting topics with many questions per topic to condense things. Im not posting one topic with one question.

I post on the forum, I ask questions in game and Im doing tons of reading online. Online Im told ask on the forums. On the forums Im told ask in game or google it. Instead of answering my questions all my topics get locked because in the 10 years EVE has been around the question was asked by someone. I cant ask the question myself but have to dig thru 10 years of topics to see if someone asked the question.

So now instead of taking a couple of weeks to really get the feel for eve its going to take months because the only thing thats acceptable is doing everything myself. Cant ask all the vets questions.

So Im going to keep asking questoins, all the vets can keep complaining. The mods can keep closing my topics so I have to re ask them and it will take longer. Or maybe theyll ban me for asking questions and Ill take my subscription to a less complicated game where Ill have less questoins and the players will actually answer them without harrassment

Well the community is nothing but atrocious trolls. Your best bet is finding an active teamspeak channel with plenty of helpful people.

Good luck finding one.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

I left rookie corp 2.5 years ago. Not sure if theres a way to get back on that channel. Just been asking questions in the npc corp Im in.

I wouldnt mind the trolls so much if the mods werent in on it. Their closing every topic I start and telling me to go research it because asking a question is considered reposting. As if every questoin hasnt already been asked over the past 10 years.

Which means anyone not coming up with something completely new is breaking the rules. In all my years of playing games the mods for this forum might be the most unfriendly/unhelpful Ive ever seen. Actively blocking my attempts to learn about the game.

I guess Eve is just rolling in new subs so this is how they treat new players

I have never had a problem getting sensible questions answered. These forums are generally quite helpful outside of GD and everyone else seems to get along fine for the most part, so the problem is on your end.

You did start nearly 10 different threads to ask said questions. Go join a corp and learn there

the problem on my end is I am burning a fast track through the information. Digesting what eve has to offer. All i do is Ice mine because Im reading wiki or forum posts. Im talking online asking questions and learning. So I dont have time for anything other than basically afk mining

The difference between you asking an occasional sensible question and me asking tons of sensible/not sensible questions is game time. I need lots of information to get the ball rolling where you just need some help to keep up to date or find out about a small aspect of the game you didnt know about before

and each thread had multiple questions of different nature. If I reposted a question it would be because my threads keep getting locked so I dont get all the info I need. Increasing the clutter and slowing things down.

Im in an npc corp and I learn there too. Im learning through many sources. Its annoying that the mods are blocking me

If you keep asking them in the correct place and in the correct format, there's nothing anyone can say.

OP...

- the reason some of your threads were locked was because you were making a new thread for each "small" question. Too many of those constitutes as spam. Condense your questions and thoughts into fewer threads... make bullet points and lists for easier formatting of answers (you did good in this thread).

- The reason people tell you to Google something while ridiculing you is because you are asking a question but with no story or content. You show nothing about what you think something does, what you may have learned, what you have tried, what you want to do, etc. and it smacks of someone who hasn't done any research (even though that might not be true).
Remember that these are forums (on the internet no less)... wording matters more than intent.

- Don't just ask... DO. Even if you are unsure about something... try it anyways. Even if all your questions are answered and you have a wealth of information to draw upon you'll still be missing out.
For example: I can theorycraft about PvP for hours. This ship will do this, if that ship does that, and you should fit this mod for that since it will come up, etc.
But at the end of the day all that might end up moot when someone does something so unexpected that I have no way to counter it (which is often the case).

- Find yourself a corp or alliance that will take you in and answer all your questions. I think you might do well in EVE University as they have a very slick Wiki page that is available for all.

OP try New Citizens Q&A, posters in there go out of their way to answer questions. GD is not really the place to be asking questions, it's more of a general discussion forum (the name gives it away) where we argue, troll and generally rip the urine out of each other, oh and it's full of shiptoasters.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

You know what most people did when they wanted to figure something out about the game? They played the game. Not many of them made a post about every thing in eve you could do, and asked a question about each.
Hi, i only want to pve.
Hi, i really want to do small gang pvp.
Hi, i want to try solo WHing.
Hi, i want to do industry.
Hi, i want to mine.
Etc.

You look and smell like a troll.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Whew! Just made it!

...and yet somehow several hundreds of thousands of other EVE players have managed from the beginning just fine...hmmm...

There are numerous resources available to answer your questions. Among them are Evelopedia, the in-game help channel which is monitored by STAR, the search function, and many more. All are capable of answering your question. In addition, the best way to learn in EVE is to do. Find a group of like minded players and try things out. If something is not to your liking, try something else. EVE is full of things to do, see, and try.

As this answers the question, and to prevent thread clutter, I am closing this topic. I highly recommend you do some of the things I have suggested. Thank you.
