The New Probing modules are broken overpowered

So today I went onto the test server having heard about these new wonderful probing upgrades. Well, I took a buddy in an unprobable ship with eccm of 60 and a sig of 30 and decided to probe him out.

As expected, I was able to probe him out with a virtue clone at .5au probes. I tried to probe him out at 1au with the new mods and virtues at 1.0 au but was unable to do so.

However, when I unplugged the virtues and the probing hardwirings, I was STILL able to probe out that same unprobable ship at .5au

These mods represent a radical and completely unbalanced element to probing.

1. First, they absolutely obsolete the lg virtue set and existing probing hardiwrings
2. Second, for fc's especially in armor boats, the addition of these mods will allow them to dramatically find enemy fleets and ships much faster.
3. The de-emphasis on dedicated probers is note-worthy especially for armor comps. The addition of these mods will make probing in your damnation/fc anchor mobile much easier.
4. It completely ruins any element of unprobable shenanigans which are some of the most fun in the game atm.

This is an extremely saddening change. I don't know who did this or why, but you have truly taken away a big aspect of "skill" from probing.

I urge CCP to immediately scrap and remove these mods and throw them in the dumpster of utterly game-breakingly broken mods.

I'm confused by your message.

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?

CCP is adding new t2 mods for probing that go into your midslots. They dramatically improve probing and have obsoleted an implant set worth over 3bil and with it an entire and completely legitimate form of gameplay.

The expensive implant set could find these ships before, correct?

And how much is the worth of the ships that are 'unprobable'?

Yes the implant set could find it and it cost roughly 2-3bil.

The unprobable ships could be anywhere from 500mil to 4-5bil+. In nullsec it's not uncommon to find unprobable tengus that run around with a-type invulns and a-type msb's for doing missions. For pvp, it's common to see unprobable link boats.

Given CCP's intent to remove off grid links. I'm guessing this is intentional.

Additionally I don't see how it adds any real skill to need a 3 billion implant set to probe someone. Just says the guy with the bigger wallet wins.

Finally. Given you could probe them at DOUBLE the range with the implants in. I also see the implants still being highly useful.

I see the effect. How would those unprobable link boats work if they remove off-grid boosting?

They wouldn't because even if they constantly maintained warps they would still need to be on grid. Which means massive buffer tanks, dedicated logi support, and quick mobility to speed tank alpha volleys.
