Tengu : Damage control II or 4th Ballistic Control System II?

I was wondering: some of the real good loadouts have 4x Ballistic Control System II

or (with same loadout)

3x Ballistic Control System II + 1x Damage control System II

So, my question: what is best to do? Exclude fitting of a damage control circuit II?

I ask this, because sometime ago I read someone stating that flying Billion ISK ships WITHOUT a Damage Control System...that could give sometimes problems while docking or undocking(???!!)...and sometimes it even resulted in the loss of the ship while undocking it from a station ...anyway, that was stated, and I do not know what to believe.

I do not mind loosing ships in fights or so, I just by another Tengu......but what I would defenitely NOT LIKE is risking to loose one of my 1.8 billion Tengu's by JUST DOCKING OR UNDOCKING some station! Still I see skilled players producing loadouts both with and without DCII....maybe..DCII benefits are partly integrated in the sub-systems of modular ships so a Tengu can skip placing it? I do not know.

So, does anyone know the answer to this one?

Thx

In PvP you pretty much have to use DCUII. In Pve usually you don't use DC, However blink ship ganking is a known thing that happens in certain systems and/or more populated stations.

If you are in a quit region, there is no reason to fit DCU on your ship for PvE.

Also, this topic belongs to Ships & Modules subforums.

You should definitely be flying a Tengu.

Briefcase is never wrong, so when in doubt fit a briefcase.

If your pve'ing in a tengu and someone wants to gank you.
a dc2 is not going to save you

fit the bcu .. you'll kill stuff faster, be done with the mission faster, so therefore a little less vulnerable to be being hit

for pvp
the dc2 is pretty much a given, fit it yesterday.

thx, but if I would have a choice here than I would defenitely skip the DCII since about Ballistic control sytems I know this for sure: adding the 3rd one (low slot) does not realy make a big difference...it for sure is the 4th one that makes the real difference. But, again, is that a safe thing to do re above mentioned possible (???) unnecessary docking/undocking problems of a technical nature?

So, I still would like to know whether one takes unnecessary risks technically loosing a Tengu while 'just docking or undocking'.

Please: only persons to reply here WHO DO REALY KNOW the correct answer. Any speculating...well...that I can do myself. Thx

The correct answer is, "Sell your Tengu. Consider buying a new one after you have a better grasp of game mechanics, and can make your own fitting decisions."

THX for that one. But...could you possibly "narrow it down" to the docking/undocking...since that is what realy worries me.

You sound like a permanent 'low ISK pilot"...well, I am sorry for you...but your comment does not contribute to the query in any way.

The only thing killing you at undock/docking is gankers. Should bugs killing your ship at undock exist then these can be petitioned and your ship will be replaced by CCP. This is the case for all bugs and exploits and sometimes even the players fault like reprocessing the wrong stuff, CCP will replace your stuff.

You really don't get it?

if someone thinks your tengu falls into the loot piñata category, it wont matter what you have installed in the 4th slot
it IS going to go boom.

I don't station-game so cant help on the docking/undocking thing
you need that info from the standard risk-averse pvper

chances are they wont say, cos then more industrials will be able to escape their brave elite combat prowess

I'm not really sure what my wallet has to do with your competence, but I'm betting my NAV exceeds yours by at least a couple of zeroes.

The issue is that your posts make it obvious that you lack even a cursory awareness of basic game mechanics.

As an example.: "... adding the 3rd one (low slot) does not realy make a big difference...it for sure is the 4th one that makes the real difference."

Actually, no, the 4th one will make even less of a difference than the third, thanks to diminishing returns.

That for sure is a 'to the poin answer' and yes..I read some time ago it had to do with some technical problems (bugs? Could be!?!)...anyway...if there were any..then no doubt CCP would already have taken care of tha already. Secondly, I do not see any postings of others ever referring to same (and that is a good sign)...so maybe that 1st quarter 2011 (as I recall it dated from there) posting I read ...maybe it does not exist anymore!

So yes, good comment. Thx (...anyway...I would realy hate it to spare out a 4th BCS II ....so I hope to find enough sound grounds to skip fitting that DC II (for a Tengu that is)...which I only am used to fit to Combat BC's such as Drake)

Sofar, what I read of the above good comments: I can better skip the DC II...and I like that, for sure!
