Sentries on a mobile ship = very horrible idea. Most people fit sentries in EFT so they can say LOOK AT MY DPS.

That's the problem with arm chair experts, they can't provide "proof" and continue to quote old methods that are no longer as effective.

It's simple:

EM weak rats = Nightmare
Everything else = Odyssey CNR

(mach and TE will get nerf so don't train it for lvl4s)

as far as the budget goes I'm pretty sure the nightmare is cheaper than mach, just due to the difference in hull price, that said I'd put nearly the same amount of shiny on both, faction damage mods and a cheap deadspace booster. Heck I think my mach is shinier as I got a deadspace mwd for cheap a while back which has gone up in price since.

how much will the TE nerf change the mach? hell I could probably easily switch to a 3 slot armor tank and use the mids for tracking comps and overall the ship would hardly change, but hey it might not even be worth switching. it will still be plenty fast and have a bunch of fall off.

looking at stoicfaux's post over here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=230551 I dunno, the new cnr doesn't seem all that great. shooting more ammo and doing less damage. seems to me might as well fly a golem for the tp bonus and less ammo, or a navy scorp extra tp and resists. the 8th launcher is cool, but that is all it is, I'd rather keep the 7 launchers and rof bonus, that way it stays the dps king.

TE nerf will take a standard 3 TE and 4 gyro fit from 104km falloff to 85km using barrage.

I'm curios do people really use barrage in missions? In what space do the rats spawn that far away? Caldari?

In some missions rats spawn 80 and more km away (gurista assault, sansha blockade...). But I wouldnt say people use barrage on mach - they use mwd on mach.

And tbh if I wanted to use a mach after te fix, Id just throw 3 slot deadspace armor tank on it and fit 3 tcs to the mids (and switch em shield rig to anti exp armor rig) . Problem solved, its not like mission mach needs that tracking bonus from tes or 800 damage burst tank.

exactly. using rather rough math it looks like instead of keeping range at 30km I will want to move in to 25km. and I very rarely use barrage as the 20s spent changing ammo just isn't worth it most of the time. I don't think the change will be big enough that I even want to switch to an armor tank.
