This doesnt have to mean you should join a corp, but I do advice it. There are plenty of people who are willing to have a chat or help you. That guy that just killed your ship because you jumped into low-sec...He doesnt have to be a jerk, he was mearly having fun in his way playing the game. 99% of those people dont mind helping to get better if you contact them and ask for advice ornwhat happened in a FRIENDLY way.

fun story: back when i was a noob i lost my industrial twice on the same day to the same gate camp in lowsec. both times, the guy gave me the isk to buy a new ship because he saw that i was new and 15mil were a lot of cash to me but pocket change to him.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Well then..Thanks for all the replies. I am not used to REAL help in a forum. I was only expecting maybe three or four intelligent responses and then a whole bunch of silly children posts.

Seriously, thanks for all that help. And if I have any other questions, it is nice to know that I can post witthout having to fear chuck norris jokes or your mama jokes or anything else stupid. seriouskly...appreciate it.

From one beginner to another...

It took me 2 months with 10+ hours a week of game play to choose a direction to go toward and I still haven't tried everything.

This game is very open ended. Try as many things as you can, and enjoy the journey.

Just passing by readed some answers , little to add but stil.
Chuck norris jokes and mama jokes have theyre place even here :P tho not in this section . CCP and most of eve players do care about theyre newbies :) Just saying incase youl ever need some drama there is plenty .

Also they explained that , 10m sp and 100m sp can be the same while using same ship , and yes rest 90 is around different other stuff :)

As for titan's , those ships are bad you "cant" actually leave them , theyre powerfull but theyre uses are quite limited ... If i were you and would like to find something to aim to , check supercapitals :) those are nice !

I was once like you , and rushed trough ship tier's to battle ships , then i understood that it was pointless and started to improve my skills from the bottom , combat wise im still learning skills waaaaay before Battleships (like cruisers destr and battlecruiser) before i will use a battleship it will take like quite some month's even more ... And maybe even then ill jump into a tier3 cruiser then BS .

So dont rush anywhere ... BS , titan's or anything else arent better , theyre just bigger :D

Oh and about getting lost ... no way to avoid that , people need month's or years and still figuring out what theyre doing :P

Welcome to EVE

Here's another example: I'm at 22 million SP (About a year and a bit)

I have approximately 4 million of that in Industry. The rest on PvP skills.

I go along in a 740 DPS Proteus (Not even maxed yet) and I could still fight off a 100 mil SP veteran (My CEO) and he's in a Command Ship.

There's an example for you.

EDIT: Spelling Mistake.

I don't always do shit. But when I do, it's usually worth doing.

I'm pretty new to the game myself but as far as I can tell it doesn't matter what race and bloodline you pick i think you start off with basically the same skills. Except for Amarr= amarr ships/lasers, Minmatar = minmatar ships/hybrids, caldari/missiles, the other one has projectiles.

Correction: Primary / Secondary
Amarr = Lasers / Drones (Some missiles but not a lot)
Caldari = Missiles / Hybrids
Gallente = Drones / Hybrids
Minmater = Projectiles / Missiles / drones

These are just general guidelines. A lot ships cruisers and up can fit a full flight of 5 drones, even though drones may not necessarily be the primary or secondary weapon of that race.

For tanking:

Amarr = Armor
Caldari = Shields
Gal = Armor /Shields
Min = Shields /Armor
