that's pretty standard in AU tbh.
All games cost more.

(not saying it's good, just a fact.)

Re-read it, this is for in game items, not the game itself.

I was going to pick up Dust 514 and give it a go but if this is the case I won't bother, everything else I play charges you in US dollars for in game items and it is the same price as US players, you only have to factor in the exchange rate.

Which is never that good for us NZ players, but for you AU players you are pretty much on $1 to $1 Cry

Even for us it's not too bad - NZ 0.82 - US 1.0

It's not the government at fault. It's the deliberate choice of particular companies.

Actually... http://tetrisisunrealistic.blogspot.com.au/2013/04/australian-gamers-vs-australian-game.html

I wrote this a while back. There is a law in Australia that allows companies to do this, laid out by our government. It shouldn't have anything to do with digital products, but until that changes it gives the companies the right to sell something at inflated prices here in Australia. That's why the wholesale prices are higher.

I thought the link of increased prices in AUS and NZ was due to higher average levels of income there? Not because of differences in currency value.

Europe gets gouged in the same way, if you're not getting hit with the "$1=£1=€1" exchange rate you have the likes of EA charging different prices in different countries who share the same currency, for the same product.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I want to bump this.

I've been looking at the elite bundle, but I will not pay $160 USD for a $100 USD *digital only* item.

I'm assuming you're American, simply from your attitude: Last I checked our $ was worth more than your $... So who's money isn't worth a damn?

That's another part of the issue as well. It's still not good enough though as our $ is pretty strong right now. No excuses in my book.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:
