this error is not familiar to me but have you done the standard stuff such as a virus scan and a reinstall?

I should buy an Ishtar.

Go into your EVE folder and try to launch the exe file directly. See if that works.

If not, run the repairtool, it should try to fix the client.

If that also doesn't work...reinstall completely.

If that also fails...petition CCP with all the info you got and all the steps taken, they might have an idea how to fix it.

If all else fails:

Step 1:
Check the status of the issue in safe mode (safe mode with networking if this happens while browsing Internet).
Start your computer in safe mode
Advanced startup options (including safe mode)
Step 2:
If the issue does not occur in safe mode or safe mode with networking then place the computer in clean boot state and check if helps you fix this issue.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7:

1. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
2. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
3. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
4. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
5. Click OK.
6. When you are prompted, click Restart.
7. After the computer starts, check if the issue is fixed.
If your issue is resolved after performing Clean Boot, then follow the steps mentioned in the following KB article to narrow down the exact source:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Also, see the section on how return your computer to a Normal startup mode by following the steps under “Reset the computer to start as usual”, after performing the clean boot troubleshooting.

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

Hi, Wondering if the OP resolved his issue, as I now have same thing it seems :-(

Same error message and programme error message.

Tried all the above and more - start from .exe, repair, reinstall, safe mode etc etc but still launcher runs fine untill peve itself just comes up (Not responding).

Lodged petition but love to hear where OP ended up.

Edit: Oh..and cleared Cache and settings...no help :-(
