More than ORE ships...

I'd like to see more ships from the other factions in EVE. Mordu's Legion attack ships, interBus transports, Thukker Tribe deep space survivalists and my own personal dream The Servant Sisters of EVE exploration ship...

The Sanctuary

Please add your own ideas for faction ships.

Edit - The interBus Transport

Would be of similar size to the Orca but with none of the mining role bonuses. Maybe warp strenght or agility bonus.

Certainly, as long as this does not mean new skills.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

I like it.

I don't think I could add anything better than the SoE exploration ship.

I don't mind the addition of new skills, you run out of things to train eventually.

The Sanctuary is a really cool design.

Did you know that you can take your design and create a really good game with it using the Unity Gaming Engine?

UGE is free to use and develop your game with along with having outstanding tutorials that takes you from the first stage of creating a Skybox, which is how a system in Eve Online is made through the various stages of scripting yoru ship or character to move around, point systems ect.

Give it a try and make your own Universe with the ship you created. Your ship has a very interesting backstory that may never be told through CCP but through the Unity Game Engine your reality can become real.

....your ship has given me a thought....read the Expanding Eve Online Through Indie Games thread for more details.

Nice ship.

I love the idea of more ships. Personal favorite of mine. Balancing is an issue, though, as we're seeing with tiericide.

But if you've got a basic plan, then more ships, more styles, more races ... I'm all for it. I just realize why CCP doesn't do it, because more equals a ton of more work both for the artists (i.e. with the V3 improvements) and the balance guys.

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?

I don't know about the rebalancing myself, I still think having the old mk1 scorpion would be cool, sort of like having an old shape car or classic.

Anything that 's adds more uniqueness and stuff to do in Eve is always welcome on my part. And for those that would say go create the "stuff to do" on your own, I say that not one single MMO would be functional on even the slightest level without NPC-Player interaction. The more of said interaction the devs bring into the game, the more Players will be able to go create "stuff to do" lol.

Source? I made it using some textures from EVE.

But we could fill in gaps that aren't currently filled by Empire faction ships, science and research vessals, manufacturing ships, smartbomb bonused frigates, Dust troop supply transports, other non-combat ships where balancing isn't as important.

I've always wondered what would happen if CCP shut down NPC missions for a week or switched off the stargates to and from high sec. Would the Null seccers and 'elites' still moan about carebears and mission runners when their supply of cheap goods and faction items disappeared.

An SOE (or other faction) Factory ship. Now that sounds nifty. Extremely hard to implement though (esp if it could build ships. ammo I don't see much of a balance problem)

(Thinks of the bentusi harborship from homeworld)

If the ship could build other ships it wouldn't be a big deal, right? Just make them appear in the hangar/maintenance bay when they're delivered. Not enough room? You can't deliver the job.

Alternately, disallow queuing the job altogether if there isn't enough room (this could prevent stuck jobs) and let the finished ship(s) self-deliver to the maintenance array. You can jettison them into space which will auto-assemble them (I think, I'll try this later with an orca and a shuttle) and then scoop them to the hangar. Or simply allow unassembled ships in the hangar. A right-click "assemble and move to hangar" option could also be a possibility.

Unfortunately, I don't see a factory ship as being able to dock if the Rorqual is any indication.

WIth the introduction of tech 3 they have completely taken over exploration... there is no ship in low-sec that can contest a site with a T3 and win other then another T3

Battlecruisers are too clunky and too easy to catch while T2 cruisers are lacking in ability if they fit for science and though slightly harder to catch then BC's are easy to keep pinned.

I'd welcome any change that'd limit the one stop shopping that T3's have become. Atm when a site is contested, the ships are so similar that there are no weaknesses or strengths to exploit and ppl just run away or predictably get blown up...

Well it could just eject the ships into space and someone could get in.

My actual fear for the factory ship idea. Who do you work it. Since when you warp off when you logout of the game, your ship disappears correct? Some people might whine about that being too powerful (since you can't hide your POS or Outpost from people) As long as you're limit is a BC or something though, I don't see too much of a problem. Mke it so it has a rather high resource wastage factor too.

Another wonder comes in though, what if you want to leave the ship to go and do something. While its just floating in space would production still happen?

If it had some form of deployment/anchoring so in a WH (where i could see their usage the greatest) It deploys, has limited ability to fit defenses. Doesn't produce a bubble. But its own shields have a reinforced mode and such, so it could be left for a few days to do work, for a small corp that can't afford to run a stationary POS.
Would be nice because if you worry that a larger corp might be planning to take it out, you could fly the thing out (perhaps have an undeploying timer, but nothing like dismantling a POS)

+1 for this idea and for New Skills as long as more ships are released for those categories in lesser\major roles and not just one ship e.g. ORE Noctis, Venture, Primae (the most useless of all ORE ships).

Well first of all I think we need more pirate factions. So far we have amarr-caldari (sansha), amarr-minmatar (blood raider), caldari-gallente (guristas) minmatar-gallente (angels) and gallente-minmatar (serpentis).

We need at least a minmatar + caldari mix and an amarr + gallante mix. Preferably there should be two factions for each mix since one race seem to be the dominant one in each pirate faction, like serpentis and angels.

SoE ships would also be really nice for all the explorers.

Then I would also like to see a corp that specializes in filling niches that doesn't fit other factions. Could be an existing corp or a completely new one. Could be a group of scientists and engineers from all 4 empires who don't give a **** about politics and just want to make new stuff.
