I hope that the people that complain about "DUST DT" are aware about Dust514 now beeing a part of EVE? Stop seeing it as 2 different games, it's one server. You will have the impact on Dust aswell as they will have impact on you (as long as you play the part of EVE where they meet each other).

The only problem I have with Dust 514 is the fact that it was developed for the console. Nothing wrong with consoles but the game should have been available for PC users as well so that long time Eve players could at least play what is likely to become an important part of the game they have devoted years of subs to.

I dont think players see what dust has done for eve as a whole. Look at how the player base has increased over the last year and tell me dust doesn't matter to you, cause because of dust you have plenty of newbs to pew pew.

They still might need some time to test it all works.

Edit:

Also, i've heard players in jita saying how they started playing DUST and wondered what EVE was all about, so they started an EVE account.

I think this was part of their goal with DUST all along. It's quite clever, actually, and allows them to fund both games with the subs from just one without the need for shareholders and the like. For all their mistakes in the past, present and future, I've still never been more impressed with a Dev team's ingenuity, community interaction and bold nature as I have been with CCP.

it was also gonna be for xbox. but microsoft acted like a douche saying CCP would have to pay for each update. so CCP said "**** it then it will be PS3 only" and there you go. thats what happened.

I pay to play EVE, not Dust. So not impressed that us EVE players have to suffer down time. Due to a little pet project, for the playstation 3.

its a little pet project that is pulling in real money for them to use to continue to develop both universes.

Once we get full intergration (markets etc) its well much more real

Putting it on the PC would have pulled people away from Eve,

There is a very large market for console FPS as shown by the yearly updates to Medal of Honor, Call of Duty and Battlefield.

Dust has an advantage in that anyone can download it and pay it for free, and instead of yearly updates costing £40 for the mainstream games, the updates are free (you dont ever have to pay for dust)

If you want to test it grab a cheap PS3 second hand from ebay for £80 or so, plug a mouse and keyboard in, connect it to a second monitor on your desk and fire away (literally)

The Newest Patch does not seem to like me : <

It fails to update and complains of corruption. Anyone else see this on windows 8? the repair tool fails with the same error.

But it is two separate games that are linked. People pay for them separately, you don't buy one get one free. So I can understand people getting a bit impatient about extended downtime for a game they don't subscribe to, especially as EVE players were in the EVE universe first.

But then surely CCP would have expected this or if they didn't they should have.

Edit: ok, Dust is none subscription iirc, but you need a console, so people like myself won't be playing Dust anyway, as don't own a console anymore and don't intend to get one.

THey are set in the same universe and designed to influence each other as much as possible. Everybody who though about it just a little bit understood they would share DT. The people crying about it jsut don't understand what setting the 2 in the same universe mean...

funny thing is he's head, shoulders, and half a torso shorter than most of them
