They have never heard of the people who placed the bounties. They don't leave Hi Sec. They don't talk or listen to anyone.

Personally, I think the bounty system is a good reason to quit the game.

Thank you, CCP. Sorry to tell you this, but committing suicide should be done quickly. NOT the way you have decided to do it.

I think that people that place bounties on other people are complete morons and should biomass.

There. I now officially have a much higher bounty on my head then you ... give it about 30 seconds. That's how it's done.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

Look bro, it's a simple matter of mathematics. Bounties pay 20% of the destroyed value. That means that a ganker has to invest 20% of the target's potential value in order to break even. If you're flying a mission-fit CNR, for example, and your ship's total value is 900 million, then your bounty payout would be 180 million, making a gank (let's assume Tornados here) cost much more than the reward.

Exhumers and haulers? People are going to gank those anyway, regardless of bounty presence, if you make yourself a target.

So pray tell, how else do they incentivize belligerent behavior?

Why do they exist? Ask CCP. The people who wanted a bounty/kill right overhaul didn't want it in this form. I mean, the bounty changes were half-okay, but were unfortunately part of a bad bigger picture when kill rights are considered. As things are today, bounties constitute a simple convenience tool, and kill rights are entirely rubbish.

I fear to ask, but, what is wrong with bounties?

I can go into details with a long post, but frankly those discussions were already had in 2012. To quickly summarize the faults of the bounty system:

1. The default payment percentage is too low and/or not versatile enough because it can't be adjusted by the people placing the bounties.
2. Inability to restrict recipients of bounty payouts.

And these tie nicely into the main (and arguably only) fault of the kill rights system, a fault that makes it entirely redundant to the criminal/outlaw flag:

1. Kill right results in a suspect flag instead of a limited engagement with the kill right holder.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

How does this thread have over 400 views but OP's bounty is only 4M? Eve Community I am disappointed.

If everyone reading this thread added just 1m, we could have OP quit Eve before the weekend is though, please think of the server resources, be generous.

Why waste the isk on someone who wont appreciate the gesture? I would prefer to play tag with someone who will at least play the game versus curl up in a corner and qq.

I'm sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the EVE product and the many interesting people that enjoy the game.

Might I suggest a nice game of Solitaire for you?

Not really. What surprises me is how smart some people can be despite the influence of the masses.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Why? Because they had no bounty on them. That is reason enough.

So funny isnt it? You spend money, and get to watch that money get given away to other people.

I hear that every time your money gets given away to another player, it tears him apart inside. His tears are allegedly copious, as he feels like its his own money thats given away to other players instead of yours.

I bet it warms the cockles of your heart everytime you find out your money just made some random stranger a tiny bit richer.

Actually, there is one flaw in the biunty system. If you place x isk on some on, the notice don't stop until their entire bounty is gone. So if the player has a large bounty already, or someone else places a large bounty on them, you get notices long after the bounry you placed dries up.

And given azura probably spent 100k on someone who probably has over 100 mil, the joy of seeing the constant fail fit losses far exceeds the minimal isk spent.

Obligatory can I have your stuff post.

By the way, I have been exploding a lot this week. This has seen almost 100m ISK taken out of the bounty pool placed on my head. If this goes on, it will soon drop below 400m and that will severely impact my cosmetic appearance as a dangerous criminal. If anyone has some extra ISK please dump it on my head, I'm too poor to do it myself!
