Invention noob - need help

Hello there.

Just started to invent t2 missiles for my main character needs. Did my first invention job just a few minutes ago and now i am puzzeled by the results.

My skills are Electronic Engineering 4, Rocket science 4 and Caldari Encryption Methods 3.

I used a Scourge missile blueprint with ME 50 and PE 0. Licensed prod runs 1500, max runs 1500.

The result was a t2 scourge fury missile blueprint with ME -4, PE - 4 , Licensed runs 10 and max runs 100.

My questions are: Why only 100 runs per blueprint (instead of 5000) ?

Why - 4 ME/PE ?

I have no clue what i did wrong. Where do i specify how many runs for the desired bp? And what ME/PE research are needed for better results ?

Thx in advance.

Researched blueprints do nothing for invention. Max run BPCs are used for stuff like ammo and modules whereas many inventors take single run BPCs for ships. All invented BPCs are -4/-4 unless you use a manual thingy to augment the outcome.

It sounds like you need to do a bit more research into Invention and your questions will all be answered.

Ah i see. But how do i get 5000 missiles out of a invented bpc though? I only got bpc's with 100 missiles so far.

You actually only got 10 runs out of it. Ignore that max runs line, the runs remaining is what counts.

Each run will produce 5000 missiles, though, for a total of 50,000 missiles

May I suggest reading through this?

That was what i was hoping. But the invention job took 40 mins to complete instead of 4 days like i have been reading and although i can do 10 runs, as far as i understand there will be only 100 missiles per run.

this is the info on the bpc

Licensed Production Runs remaining 10

Max runs per blueprint copy 100

The last part got me puzzeled. Why only 100 inseatd of 5000/run

A run is not the same as the output total. Look at the Produces line on top. Multiply that number by the number of runs on the BPC. That's the number of missiles you can get out of it.

Ah damn, i just saw that line. Now i feel stupid, and probably am a bit.

Thx. The thing that got me confused is that i read that a Invention job is supposed to take 4 days. And it only took 40 minutes.

Thx a ton and sry for wasting your time

An invention job is not supposed to take 4 days.

Ammo has a base invention time of 1 hour 15 (half that in a POS lab)
Drones have a base invention time of 2 hours (half that in a POS lab)
Modules have a base invention time of 2 hours 30 min (half that in a POS lab)
Frigates and mining barges have a base invention time of 1 day 1 hour
Cruisers and industrials have a base invention time of 2 days, 2 hours
Battlecruisers have a base invention time of 2 days 14 hours
Battleships have a base invention time of 3 days, 3 hours

The maximum runs per blueprint copy is the max runs you can specify when making a copy, the 1500 for T1 ammo is the max run per copy.
