30 days dual character training - now on Singularity

Well what I'm really curious about is why people are complaining about a new feature that they consider useless.
Okay, so it's useless? So what? Don't use it then.

BUT IT'S USELESS SO IT'S A WASTE OF DEV TIME AND STUFFZ

but i for one, will enjoy my new jita alt/pi alt.

If it took more than a single developer-hour I would be very surprised.
If anybody is actually complaining that this is a waste of dev time then they should at least be equitable and complain about lunch breaks, video dev blogs, and the fact that they can talk to each other outside of meetings.

This is an excellent addition, well done CCP for really putting effort in to making the game better for us, little things like this is the polish that EvE needed to excel.

You can do this already... train for X number of days on character 1, pause training on character 1, train for X number of days on character 2, pause training on character 2, etc.

I think is a great idea. I have two accounts and being able when I can afford to train up a cyno, PI, or scanner alt would be awesome.

Start the day off slow and taper off from there.

I have been waiting for this for a while now, great stuff CCP!!!

Just one thing thou, what about PLEX prices, they are already going well up, after Odyssey they are bound to be even higher, will it be maybe possible to purchase second sub instead of using PLEX to do this?
For example if I want to train a skill on my alt, I log into my account management and pay for 1 month of extra training, it would be cheaper in cash terms and deliver same result.
Before anyone says just start new account, I say, its all good with next account, but than you need to pay for character transfers, and this is I think meant to avoid this.

And probably a lot more uses. Really any alt that requires only a certain amount of training at which point you stop, and which doesn't need to be online at the same time as any of your other characters on a given account.


another thing: if you get podded without a clone update and lose millions of SP and need to train back up...you can temporarily plex that char to get the points back wihtout stopping training on the othe 2 chars

(yes i just lost a alpha clone so that's why i thought of this Evil)

You can already train two accounts at the same time with the added benefit that they can both be online together. This would be better if it made all the toons on an account trainable, especially considering that right now on sisi you can't add a 3rd plex to train the 3rd toon, still would be rather expensive for the lack of utility.

except you get the benefit of still playing it when you stop plexing it. why do people ignore that critical and important fact.

you only have to plex it to train it, not use it.

I didn't read through all the replies here obviously, but this seems like a bad deal in it's current form and doomed to fail.

Currently if you roll up an alt using a 21-day trial plus a buddy system plex, you currently get an alt for 51 days free.

I don't see how paying for an alt on the same account is anywhere near worth a plex unless you get those first 51 days free too, without having to jump through the buddy system hoops.

I have mixed feelings about this. The initial idea of only one character training was that people would need each other, no one person being able to do all things. Ten years later with hundreds of millions of skp on people that's kind of moot.

On the other hand, my computer can no longer handle two simultaneous clients without starting to melt so I will likely make use of the feature provided plex prices don't hit 650kk

Are you daft?
You don't see how having an alt you can train for 30 days and keep indefinitely without having to pay any more after the initial PLEX is superior to having an alt you can train for 51 days but have to keep paying for every month that you want to use it?
