I bought a crokite bpo for 10b, produced it for a month, threw some money at the market, put it as collateral on a loan for 20b, price fixed the market to 1.8/u for a few months, rebought it and proceeded to auction it for 70b. Price crashed the next day, told him not to sell, it'd rebound. He didn't believe, panic sale, left the game, oh hey it has. Maybe not the best, but one of the more memorable, recently.

Mineral Trading is how I made my initial small fortune (about 140 bil), which I used to start speculation.

But that was over 3 years ago, before the massive bot bannings, and Insurance Scam nerf.

The Minerals poured in, and poured out like water. Not much competition. Had 4 alts sitting on Region Border Systems, trading minerals across 10 regions.

Placed Regional mineral buy orders with Minimum Fill Quantity, and then sold the minerals exactly where they are, or used Red Frog to transport to nearest hub.

It's probably not nearly as lucrative nowadays.

My first "best" trade was when I bought an officer shield module for 600m and flipped it the next day for 2b.

More recently I made a casual bid on a BPO half way through an auction, and was contacted a minute later by the owner who wanted to sell immediately. My eventual profit was 22b, more than twice of what I'd paid for it.

Glad you didn't ask about the worst trade :)

Any colour you like.

Just before Apocrypha 1.5 came out, I was a relatively new trader with limited funds. One day I noticed that the price of large cargo rigs was falling. This was an item I traded in frequently. The next day it was even lower, so I bought heavily around 12m per unit, till I ran out of assets that I could liquefy.

The price continued to fall to 6m per unit, and stabilized around 7. A few days later I learned about the introduction of medium and small rigs, and realized how important it is for traders to keep up to date.

I continued blindly on my original plan of selling them for 16m per unit, and distributed the rigs all over New Eden at that price. They took a while to sell, and badly dented my plans for trade domination :)

Edit: Thanks to this, I spent a couple of months lost in w-space (while the rigs sold), at a time when there was hardly anyone around, and talking on local brought you help :)

Any colour you like.

Accidentally having a Geddon sell for 4b in Jita was nice.

I should buy an Ishtar.
