Odyssey Weapon changes?

Why types of weapons will be getting tweaks and reworks in Odyssey?

Will we see weapon tiericide like no longer needing to train smaller turret specializations for the use of large turrets? To go along with the ship tiericide.?

Also will the effectiveness of Torps ever be reworked? Because every time hover the skill for it i'm very reluctant to spend the 17 days to train it for something i feel i may never need to use.

Cruise missiles are getting a massive buff to damage and travel time, large lasers are getting a big PG and cap use buff and torps - especially the T2 versions - got an indirect buff with Retribution (though I still think they need a bit more work).

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Sometimes when I post, I look at my sig and wish that I'd follow my own god damned advice.

No. Largely because those aren't tiers — they're size progressions. A small turret is to a medium turret what a frigate is to a cruiser: one size down. You have to train the small turret before the large one just like you have to train the frigate (and, in a month, destroyers) to open up the cruiser.

The only tier-like structure you see on weapons is the differentiation between, say, electron, ion, and neutron blasters. However, unlike with the ship tiers — where higher was strictly better — these weapons offer mechanical disadvantages to go along with the higher damage. The point of the ship tiercide was to remove the whole “higher skill → strictly better ship → strictly higher build cost” structure; the same linear progression towards “better” doesn't exist between the weapon variants.

And just like you have to train rocket specialization before you can train heavy assault missile specialization before you can train torpedo specialization.
Oh wait.

Yes. Those aren't turrets at all! Oh wait, indeed.

No, of course they're not turrets. That has nothing to do with the argument.

Please Select one of the following:

A) CCP: Please add launcher (size) specialization 4 to the launcher skill tree.

B) Tom: You have huge balls, but I still think your a tosspot and everything in this thread is utter ****.

C) CCP: Please remove turret (size) specialization 4 from the turret skill trees.

...

The argument that the ship size progression is just like the turret size progression, you mean?
Indeed, it's not. It's quite off-topic.

So why is it done for launchers then? Stop being obtuse.

I dunno, as things stand you don't see a whole lot of people running dual 250mm railguns
