No Skill Queue, so you set 2am alarms to wake you up to switch training if a skill fell into the mid point of your next login.

Old style scanning that required different types of probes depending on the type of site you were looking for and was often frustrating.

No warp to 0km; Having gate bookmarks for entire regions so that warp to 15km put you on the gate Cool

Rats dropping Ship's Logs to point you at plexes

You could have more than one JB in a system

Capitals could use JBs

Started playing EVE in Alpha 8, Sept 2002, and it certainly was different as in it was full of error messages that just kept poping up till you ragequit'ed. I remember they did a Top 100 of hours played and Top 100 of logins and I was nowhere to be seen on the 1st, pretty 1st on the second.

Also, scorps that flew AUs/s. That was fun.

Mine are extremely recent, as I've only been around here for 9 months, but here goes.

• FW Plex buttons were 70km away from the warp in
• Gate guns held grudges
• The Tristan sucked
• Can flipping was a more personal matter
• Lasers had a very confusing name system
• ASB's held 10 of the smallest (normal) cap booster they could fit
• Whelpcanes
• NanoDrakes
• What's Dust?

There are many more I'm sure, but that's all I could get off the top of my head

I wear my goggles at night.

Any spelling/grammatical errors come complimentary with my typing on a phone

Seeing a dred up close and personal was enough to stop everyone from shooting each other, just to come out and see it.

So much was different when I started playing that its hard to list it all but here goes.

No Battlecruisers
No Destroyers
No Capital Ships
No POS
No Cloaking
No Probing
No ORE Ships
No Level 4 Missions
No Tier 3 Battleships
No Stacking Penalties
No Bubbles
No Wrecks or salvaging
No Rigs
You could fit multiple mwds on ships for insane speed
Mining Laser II was the only tech 2 item in game
The closest you could warp to anything was 15km unless you had a bookmark
Thorax could field 8 heavy drones
Torps went off like smartbombs when they hit, causing splash damage
Isk was worth something, my thorax was an expensive ship to fly at 7m isk.

Am I bitter? Extremely

This list pretty much sums it up. I'm not bitter, though the market manipulation to devalue ISK has had it's positive and negative effects.

No T2. A rat dropping a Hull Conversion Expanded Cargo module was like hitting the lottery.

... yet both CCP's news and gaming websites in the world were continuously celebrating the umpteenth epic mega battle, in a furious null sec where no hit was spared.

^ so angry

What was the market like right at the beginning? Did people have to mine minerals in noob ships and do missions to get isk to buy blueprints?

-Using a full set of Warden I sentries off my Arbitrator to insta-pop everything in L3s

-No capitals

-BoB and ASCN

-Off grid safespots

-Bookmarking

-Good Times

But then again, I think I enjoy eve more now than back then.

You started playing yesterday? Welcome to Eve!

Used to be able to head out into nullsec and roam around and not see a soul for days.

I wish that the Eve universe would be expanded about 10 times to give us back some of that sense of vast empty space. Right now everything is crowded.
