Intergalactic Summit

I've sat here for a night and now nearly a day after the battle ended. Didn't even care to drink last night, made a rather nice mess of my quarters in anger. To tell the truth, the events of yesterday left me furious.

And I'm still furious. Furious at two sides who are suppose to be allies, furious at those who didn't just wait for diplomacy to fail but failed to ever let diplomacy start. Furious at those who cannot respect law, justice and the striving goal for peace. I'm furious at those who failed to show sympathy to their allies, and I'm furious that those allies could not show faith nor patience to let their friends do the right thing.

But most of all I'm furious at many of you, Republic and Federal alike, who come and talk of regret, and talk of duty and act like there was no other choice.

You're all f##king wrong.


Peace is always an option so long as there are those willing to support it. Even when those guns started firing peace was still an option, it was always still an option. But instead you chose to aid the bloodbath, you chose to go against peace. And now you talk of regret like it was unavoidable, like there was no other way.


To those few who never gave up the notion of peace, to those who worked tirelessly to stop the guns, and under risk of their own ships to keep others alive, you have my thanks. I am sorry that when it came down to it, those who truly strived for peace were too few. No doubt some of you sit today and consider your actions a failure, that men and women died pointlessly and it was your fault they could not be saved. Do not blame yourselves, your actions were more gallant, more brave and more meaningful than anyone who spoke of peace, but when push came to shove simply escalated the violence.


No doubt there are those with egos too big to see reason who will feel better striking out at this post. Speaking some bullshit designed to lie to themselves that they did the right thing, or how dare someone else be critical of the mistakes they made. Go ahead, make yourselves feel better. But don't ever speak of a desire for peace again after trying to justify what you have done, hypocrite.

There were those attempting to keep ships alive on the field, at one point the fire was so thin that the Moros hulls were going down far slower than before, even somewhat holding against the damage from the Republic fleet. Had Electus Matari not fired, less ships would be lost, more lives would be with us today.

But this isn't just a criticism of you, it's a criticism of everyone, all those who fired their guns on either side has blood on their hands today. And yet they speak of regret and a desire for peace.


As for alternative strategy, the Federal fleet could have been neuted out to prevent them from firing, leaving only the primary target of the Republic intact, one Moros would not have been capable of taking them down alone, and had more people been willing to simply keep the Republic's primary target alive while removing the rest of the Federal fleet's capacity to fire, we would have forced a stalemate and a resolution for peace.

1: You came with ships designed for one purpose. your intent from the start is stated. You do not go to a battlefield proclaiming peace when armed and equipped for one job that goes against everything you speak.

2: Several, I've heard bleating of those saying they "did the only thing they could" in public networks. That they were following orders, or serving duty to whichever side they pledge loyalty. And then they talk of regret the way they talked of peace before it all started.

I'm not here to publicly call anyone out by name and humiliate them further. I'm speaking my mind, and letting out my frustrations, anger and bitter dissappointment in many of you.

I'm not really sure how the Federation can be condemned for what happened. The Minmatar invaded our space, and fired the first shots. What were we suppose to do? Sit there and take it?

We defended our space and didn't make a single step back. The brave Gallente who perished in the fighting held the line and died standing. They are true heroes.

This was an act of self defense, and although I'm very upset we even needed to defend ourselves (from our own "allies" nonetheless) I cannot condemn the Federation Navy for what they did.

Yes, self defence in Gallente territory.

Or are you arguing that its wrong to fight an intruder in your own home after he shoots you?

Besides from a neutral Caldari point of view this is interesting to watch, Minmatar turning on Gallente? Is this coalition beginning to fracture? Ethnic tensions on the rise within the Gallente Federation could be temporary, but if it prolonges perhaps the Minmatar Republic will claim areas of space with ethnic Minmatar majority to "protect" them.

A pity, some of us hope for peace but what with the Caldari military state its hardly strategically unwelcome for the Gallente to be turned on by their main ally. Perhaps this will be remembered as the first example of a Republic/Federation split?

To the Minmatar, please consider talks with the Caldari State for a non allighned movement in this conflict, we have our wounds to lick and need not be subservient or fear our primary enemies, nor our nominal allies "benevolent" influences should we build upon the common ground.

That is how you treat an intruder. Had it been Caldari or Ammarian would the offer of a stand down still stand?

I would assume that the Minmatar will be issuing an apology for this violation and agressive act, that were it nor for the alliance be an open act of war against the Gallente.

A Caldari or an Amarrian fleet would be an outright hostile invasion, they are not people speaking of peace with the Federation.

Though a Caldari fleet at this time would be immensly dissappointing with the current positive developments around Caldari Prime.


Apologies mean little though, they don't bring back the dead of both sides. It's like regret, it's near meaningless at this point. We are beyond words. If the Republic and Federation mean to keep peace between them, a clear demonstration of intent to such a goal must be displayed from both parties.
