Forum Posting Volume/Rate?

Is there any publicly available information about overall posting rates/volume on teh eve forums? I know I can go on to Chribba's eve search and find a particular player's posting habits, but I'm interested in the overall numbers. I've been out of game for a while and coming back, the forums seem to be much less active. I watched a sell forum post that stayed on the first page for something like 5 hours on a Saturday afternoon, which would have been unheard of back in the day. It just got me curious. Maybe all the trolls went home?

That's the stuff! I guess that tells me what I want to know. Posting overall is down over time. It just amazed me to see things stay on the first page of the Sell Forums for 5 hours or more. Looking at MD forum, its oldest post on page 1 is from the 3rd and on S&I its the 2nd. Even C&P has day old stuff on page 1 and I thought that was the most heavily troll-patrolled subforum.

Thanks for the stats. If you happen to have a subforum breakdown of that same graph, Chribba, that would be cool to look at.

Depending on how far back in the day you're recollecting, I would wager that the decrease in the sell forum posts is due to faction, deadspace and officer items all being added to the in-game market.

Don't forget the other sites now containing Eve discussions. I came here from Reddit where I would (occasionally) post on the Eve forum before I signed up for the game.

Now that I play I still have the old habit of reading the familiar discussions there before even thinking about visiting here.

I hadn't considered that! Are there other things that used to be contract only that have moved to the ingame market?
