You're entering0 wrong KeyID/vCode, or the key you generated does not have sufficient permissions.
Also make sure you don't enter excess spaces.

@Havoc Zealot
It can be a number of reasons:
1) Wrong Key ID or Verification Code: Remove leading/trailing space - Do not enter your character name as ID...

2) Wrong access mask: Use the "Create a new API Key" link in the account import dialog.

3) The connection is blocked: The easiest way to check this is to view your API Access Log after the import it should have: "/account/APIKeyInfo.xml.aspx OK" @ the top

It might also help to read the tutorial

If you get it working, it's would be very helpful if you posted what you did to fix the problem.
If you can not make it work, please reply here again - I will try my best to help you - I do not give up until it's working!

Hello, I am having trouble installing jEVEAssets. I download the file, then extract the .jar file. Once it is extracted though the only files I see are:

META-INF
net
log4j
splash

Do I need to extract it to a specific location?

EDIT:

I just realized my .jar file is showing up as a rar file. For some reason the .jar is showing up as a WinRAR Archive file.

EDIT 2: Uninstalled WinRAR and now it's working fine. Thank you!

I specifically mentioned "any software/updates". Though, it would be clear enough to indicate that I do not mean the jEveAssets specifically.
If you've removed the Java, or installed an archiver, that took over the .Jar extension, no wonder you would not be able to lainch the application.

Good to hear you figured it out.
I'm sorry I did not reply in time to help you...

@Tonto Auri
Herdo Armas != Lokdu

Lokdu already email me and the problem was fixed...
Herdo Armas fixed the problem himself...

I appreciate you're trying to help your fellow jEveAssets users - but, please be friendly and nice to everyone in this thread.
Support is as much about fixing the problem, as it's about giving the users an good experience.

Forgive me, if I misunderstand your reply, but is it because I'm not smiling like fool and not using 1000 words, where one is more than enough, I'm considered impolite and unfriendly?
Also, I didn't comment on Herdo Armas's post at all.

Not impolite, but, maybe a bit too hard and direct. Blink
I'm sorry if I offended you. Oops

Is there a way to add a item to a stockpile by name directly?

The only ways I found is searching my Assets (works only if I already have one lying around) and Importing from EFT (too much work).
Maybe I just missed it and its obvious if you know it anyway Lol

@Bildz0r
1) Open the Stockpile Tool
2) Click the [Stockpile] button on the stockpile you want to add a new item to (in the table)
3) Select [Add]

You can also add new items from the Items Tool (and most other tools):
1) Right click on a row or selected rows
2) Select [Stockpile]
3) Select [Add to new stockpile...] or select one of the exsiting stockpiles

I hope this fix your problem, if not, please reply here again! :)

I have downloaded and executed the .jar in windows 8.. But all it does is sit there saying "validating api key" ... full api access was given. For hours on end...

Possible solutions:
1) CCP API is down: Wait until it's back up
2) CCP API is unstable: Try a couple of times (Press [Previous], [Next])
3) You're not using a CAK API Key: See ReadMe
4) Your firewall/anti-virus software is blocking the Java connection: Add Java exception to your software

If nothing of the above fix your problem, please submit a bug report (with the log file), see: ReadMe

There's ongoing issue with API caching timers, but I'm unsure if it could affect API validation call. (It's supposedly off the caching timers.)

@Tonto Auri
It could be related, you never know. jEveAssets does not respect the caching timer when adding new API Keys.
Thank you for the extra info - hopefully they'll fix it sooner than soon(tm)!

Stupid me. Thought Add would create a new stockpile and didn't try it out Sad

All fine now thanks!

There are no stupid users, only bad design decisions Blink
The menu item should be renamed "Add Item", to be more clear...

Thank you for your feedback! :)
