Hi,

I had a thought about the Primae. It's such a pretty ship(IMO) yet kind of sucks ATM. I think what should be done with it(in the spirit of tiericide) is give it a use beyond "the ship which is made for PI yet fails horribly at it".

My thought was, just make it into a hauler. We have Amarr/Gallente/Caldari/Minmatar Industrial, and ORE industrial, yet ORE has no dedicated hauler. So why not make the Primae the hauler? Maybe keep the slots the way they are, and give it a hefty cargo bay w/ cargo bay bonus?

Either that, or make another ship for hauling, and do something for the Primae which makes it actually fill its intended purpose better than (insert generic hauler here) does. Perhaps give it an insanely large Planetary Commodities bay? If nothing else, make it align crazy fast, for nullsec/WH space PI. I don't know, just some thoughts. I hate to see this ship go un-used.

They would only need to give it a 10k commodity bay and a 5k command center bay and it would perfectly fulfil its very specific purpose.

The primae is a special edition ship. It isn't supposed to be good, it's supposed to be a thing you spin in your hanger every now and again.

It's not, though. It's a normal ship, not listed under "Special Edition Ships". So, either remove it, or make it good.

First reply had a good point about the command center hold. It should be able to hold like 50 of those things, you know....for science.

Do you know how the primae was given out?

Do you not think the annual birthday present ships count as special editions? And why only the primae? Where are the boosts for the Zephyr and Echelon?

It can't be built, which makes it special. Also, in lore it was never intended for it's special role, so I guess it makes sense that it sucks at it. ORE Industrial does need to apply to some more ships though, in my opinion. Preferably a hauler specialized in ore transportation for mining operations and/or something related to Gas harvesting or the new Ring Mining.

I think one is seeing it way too complicated.
After all, we did get the Noctis - the tractor beam/salvaging ship. Heck, if it is so complicated to reuse/improve the Primae, then just make another cloned hull along with fancy name and the dedicated aspects needed to make it viable for PI.

Either apply a decent and new ship around PI or just edit the existing one. Lore-wise or not, CCP can surely bend things around to improve these ships. And we need these changes.

But yeah, ORE could do the job too, but it has to be big and decent, like it is more or less now with the Mining Barges series.

(I hope I got this right) - A lot of cargo trouble starts with the P0 stuff. Imo, a Primae/Noctis hull with a dedicated PI commodity cargo hold is necessary, but it needs to have a decent amount of space - We're talking like being able to transport some 1 or even 2 million units of Base Metals, for instance.

Likewise, this should be more than sufficient for command centers, too - or just leave that for the standard cargo hold to have some ~5k m³ which should be fine for colonizing 5 planets.

Using tablet, typoes are common and I'm not going to fix them all.

How about start at 10k base commodity hold and another 5000m3 per level lf ord industrial?
