Would the Bellicose be a good ship?

Just started my 21-day trial (and naturally, I started it just as the servers were going down) and decided I may as well ask a few questions here while I wait.

I've been considering working towards a Breacher & then a Bellicose as my '(trial) end goal', and was wondering if those were good choices for basic PvE?

No the Bellicose is still slightly terrible but if you're looking for a ship to do lvl 2 missions and you're focussing on Minnie missiles then it'll do, but I would urge you to start looking towards the Cyclone fairly quickly. The turret cruisers do quite well though, both the Stabber as Rupture, if you have a choice I'd say go for a Ruppy.

Agreed rupture is better and more versatile. That said you will enjoy both as a new player and the differences will be fairly negligable at your level of the game. Get in touch to chat more if u like.

I will say its worth "Learning" to fight with turrets more than it is missiles.

The Bellicose is more of a support ship than a solo ship.

When you're doing wormholes for example you usually have a bunch of damage dealers, like t3 Battlecruisers (the ones that use Battleship-sized weapons) who have a hard time hitting smaller targets, which is why you use the Bellicose to target-paint the cruisers and shoot the frigates with Rapid Light Missile Launchers.

I prefer the Stabber over the Rupture solo, but I have to admit I haven't flown the latter under the new rebalance. The Bellicose and Scythe are better suited to work in fleets as they have roles better suited to teamwork.
