New Torpedo for the Stealth bomber.

I think it would be great to have one flexible weapon system for the stealth bomber, which works by,

1. Able to hit all types of targets but the damage comes out over time,

2. (For description purposes) - it would be called a Nano-mite warhead it works by using microscopic drones that attack the defenses of a ship.

i don't think that would be a good idea.

bombers are an anti-blob weapon with bombs or fast, mobile DPS platforms against large targets.

secondly, if you want to introduce a "dot" in eve you also need to introduce an "anti-dot". still: meh.

Honest question: How would you expect this to be balanced? Stealth bombers currently trade mobility and the ability to apply damage to small, moving targets to be able to hit large targets much harder than other frigates. What is the trade-off for this new ammo type?

bombers are ment to mimmick the pt boats from WWII. made of wood, they hid from radar. they carried 4 torpedos and were extremely fast (relatively speaking). u couldnt see them till they were right on u, couldnt lock them with radar and only could hit them with machine gun fire. by then, you were sucking up torps.
pres kennedy was on one.

i think they are fine exactly the way they are.
they have immense fire power for their size. the only ship in game with the ability to drop bombs, they can fly cloaked, hit and fade OR stay and torp you azz to death. if a couple fly with void, they can strip ones ability to rep by robbing your cap.

with the changes in oddessy, grav sites will go away and one will only have to run their scanner to find grav and sanctums. so the bomber flies in, scans, goes and checks where the enemy is and calls his buddies in.
no probs, no tipping off the enemy that u are hunting them...
thats a boost in itself.

we dont need DOT spells...or DOT torpedos.

the only 1 thing we could add that would be REALLY kewl would be like an AOE web launched from bomb launchers.

Some of your claims about PT boats is pretty off the mark, and I think WWII era submarines are a much more accurate comparison to the current role of Stealth Bombers in EVE.

perhaps the bombers should become MECHAS and shoot streams of NANO MITE ROCKETS so i can ball around in my ridiculously OP ship because i thought of it and it's the best

now, I have to agree with nigh-sayers here and say that dotpedos are a bad idea, along with any dot weaponry. AoE weapons are generally frowned upon except by gankers and the DDs of old. This is a community that doesn't take to anything but direct-fire, direct-damage weapons, and I don't see how dot weapons will work.

on a related note, isn't an autocannon enough of a dot weapon for you?

Okay so first you need to explain to me why the bomber needs this. Are bombers underpowered? Unable to perform a role? Do we need an additional counter to something else? State the problem that this is solving.

Next, I'm not sure what you mean by 'the damage comes out overtime'? Again, what problem does this solve? Is it to balance out the versatility of the weapon, because it seems to me there would be better way to do that other than introducing an entirely new mechanic as nothing else in eve works like what you are describing.

So, as much as I love bombers, I just don't see what problem you are trying to solve and why it needs to be solved in this way.

Also the new cruise missiles as a secondary weapon system.
They originally came with cruise and with the new cruise buff, they would be awesome.
