what would be the easiest way to find an unoccupied moon in low sec so i can set up a pos?

Doesn't exist, low sec means you can be attacked at any time and your POS can be attacked at any time. So unless you have the knowledge, man power, friends and round the clock coverage your POS will mostly likely become a liability fairly soon. You might get away with it for a month, perhaps 3, but you could also lose it within days.

If you want to set up a POS make sure you're friends with the local powerhouses.

Only way. Visit moons till you find one. Keep in mind that in lowsec people will just shoot the POS cause they can.
