#1) Why so slow... there's battleships faster than this...

#2) Excellent change to test balance of weapon systems and tank types - this ship needs to be more widely available (yes, everyone has one, but only 1, they are irreplaceable)

I predict that projectiles will be the standard fit on this ship

It will be interesting to see if armor or shield fits are standard.

When it has the slot layout for either tank type, and has equal bonuses to every weapon, if any type of tank or weapon becomes dominant, it will be a sign of imbalance.

Seems like a decent exploration ship for people who can't fly T3s. That's about it, I guess.

I'm curious what the community would chose as the weapons on an exploration Gnosis? I figured Heavies for the range, but with the nerfs they're pretty bad at applying damage to small targets and you have the grid for pretty much anything you want, I ended up choosing arties but I'm really not sure.

My biggest thought on the Gnosis is how much they'll be selling for in Jita.

I'll keep one, sure. But when I get my 5-run BPC I'll be selling those hulls for as much as possible.

I was almost annoyed when 3 invulns gives me better resists than 1 of each hardener. I've noticed it will do a **** job of passive tank, (unless you use all 6 lows for shield relays.) I'm not sure why but it "feels" like a laser boat to me.

Something else I'll say. Due to the size of the hold it'd be a shame not to use either cap boosters or ASB's depending on tank type.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

Heavy assaults with 2 range rigs and one fuel cache.

[Gnosis, gnosis]

Core Probe Launcher II (Sisters Core Scanner Probe)
5x Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II (Nova Rage Heavy Assault Missile)

Target Painter II
100MN Afterburner II
2x Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
2x Large Shield Extender II

3x Ballistic Control System II
2x Co-Processor II
Damage Control II

Medium Rocket Fuel Cache Partition I
2x Medium Hydraulic Bay Thrusters II

This fits fine without any implants at all V.

Some quick stats:

Navy - 32km and 290 dps.
Javelins - 48km range and 230 dps
Rage - ~27km and 350 dps

56k EHP with 11k raw shield HP. Regens 46ehp/s.
Cap life 7m.
780m/s with the AB going. (swap the DCU for a nano II and you get about 860m/s or for an OD II for 880m/s)

Also please note this ship uses gravimetric as it's sensor so talon implants can help you there.

So, I am curious, what price point do you see the Gnosis at? Remember, there will be at least a small influx due to the 5 run BPOs (not sure if there are plans to add them as drop somewhere either).

Thanks,

The price point was hovering between 190-220 this morning.

I don't expect people will get their 5 run copies until October when they release the collectors edition

I don't know how many of the collector sets will sell, but I'm going to just guess 10,000-20,000. I'd say the number of Gnosi in the game will be 500k-600k. There's certainly no short supply of them. Prospectors are buying them up now for a profit later, but I don't think it's worth it.

I sold 2 this morning for 180m each and kept a third one but the prices have come down steadily because of players cashing in on them. If the prices stay too high, they won't sell all that well because T1 BCs are so much cheaper... They're only worth that price tag to explorers who will eventually train T3 cruisers, so that is a limited market. Collectors may feel they're worth something, but they will already have their own anyway.

I think they will be a niche market item which will probably settle around 100m for the players who might buy one or two for exploration. There is also a chance of CCP re-releasing them later, maybe as a reward for the buddy program or something else. They will never reach the value of something extremely desirable like a tournament reward.

Good analysis. I agree with it for the most part, but think a price point of about 150 will be realistic. Time will tell.

I don't think that the collectors edition will affect the prices. How many of those will be bought? Maybe a thousand? That's 5 thousand ships. CCP handed out maybe 100 thousand today.

I predict that mine will be in a station container, repackaged... along with all the other "gifts" I have gotten in the past...

It's an awesome ship with lots of different fitting options. I suspect this will actually be used a lot, unlike most limited edition ships. I will certainly keep one in a can just in case they become an endangered species, but I'll also purchase some to use :D

Yes. They changed the Sarum Magnate to Gnosis at midnight.

You can do some interesting things with this hull. That said, I notice that the fitting is tight enough that you need to match your weapons with your tank - low CPU/high PG weapons with a shield tank, high CPU/low PG weapons with an armour tank (and HMLs are just plain difficult to fit). So it's a pretty nice shield+beam BC, which is pretty unique, I think.

Wait what?
I redeemed a Sarum Magnate, and then logged on later to redeem a Gnosis...
Did the Magnate dissappear, or convert (will I have 2 of these?)?

Or if you didn't redeem it yesterday, is it not available today for redeeming?

I am not quite sure. But yesterday I redeemed a few Sarum Magnates on my accounts. This morning I logged in another account I from which I haven't redeemed the Sarum Magnate yesterday as he is in deep low sec and have seen, that there was the Gnosis I was missing yesterday. Haven't redeemed them, but I think Sarum Magnate was not in the list anymore. But I am not quite sure. The only thing I know, that yesterday the Sarum Magnate was part of the list, this morning Gnosis (as well).
