So I logged in about 5 minutes ago to update my queue, when I think "Hrm those bc changes are coming soon, I should train up Minnie cruiser while I can, so I find a nearbye Minnie cruiser skillbook 3 jumps away I buy it, set destination, undock, jump through first stargate, warp to the second one, and right as I jump through I see this orange flashy on overview as a suspect and just had time to see he was a heron.

So I waited on the other side of the gate, sure enough he uncloaks after 15 seconds or so
I burn towards him in my awkwardly slow 400mm plate Tristan at a glorious speed if 741m/s with ab on he appears to be aligning to something, I lock him, still aligning, scram and web him, unleash drones and blasters, poof he's dead, I think hmm he'll insta-warp his pod, nope, lock scram web and drone it up, unfortunately he jumps back through the gate when pod is just entering structure (which took about a second and a half) by this time my hands and whole body are shaking sooo much I can barely open his container, to my extreme joystonishment I find a 6m assorted loot/cargo piñata heron Pirate

Infact my hands are still shaking and this was very diffidult to type.

Simply why eve is epic

also my brother didn't want me to undock and get the skillbook P

I'm just amazed by the chances of this happening, what if I didn't buy that skillbook, what if I was 30 seconds late, what if I did an extra platoon battle in ..some other game before doing my queue, what if I didn't do my queue at all !!

Yeah I get those shakes during awesome fights to. It is the epic Adrenaline rush that is created by a game where losing a ship you really lose a ship =).

When I play Fallout 3 on god mode and jump off high places that would surely kill me without cheating I feel it in my balls =)

What if.. You had actually shot at someone dangerous?
I mean, getting all adrenalinrushy because of a Heron and a pod?
Id understand better if it had been like a merlin or something else that could kill you.

Moments like these are the only reason I undock these days. Unfortunately they are fewer than I would like. The days immediately after the new crime watch system were glorious. I must have killed 8 people on the first day (in only an hour or so playing) because people were unaware of what the changes meant. Now though everyone is savy, and finding a fight in highsec is difficult again. Looks like I will be headed back to NPC null when the industry and ore changes hit TQ.

I've also got to the point now where losing a ship is disappointing but not really the end of the world. I usually have 2 of each PvP set up I like in my home station so I just grab the other one... So the adrenaline rush isn't as great any more. So now I have to find small gangs and pick on them in a small ship. That gets the heart beating. I also particularly enjoy baiting the scouts of large fleets when I know that fleet is on the other side of the gate. That get's the blood pumping. Killing someone's fleet mate alone when the rest of the entire fleet is only 70km from you feels so epic.

Just go to lowsec, any FW region and you will get that rush more often, it wears off after a while but sometimes you will get a freaking good fight like me yesterday.
Enyo vs Enyo at least 3mins epic fight, sweating, pumping, checking the dscan for more incomings, crazy thoughts about any possible option to kill him faster. After the first full round of ammo pumped into him, i knew he wasn't using an AAR and was hoping he is just cap boosted, not some odd capstable stuff and is running out of boosters before i run out of ammo.

After what seems about hours he finally blows up, checking the kill mail and even arn't cursing the loot fairy for denying me some nice deadspace stuff because it was a good fight.
