Does a war dec follow me on leaving corp?

Before I start let me apologise for asking what appears to be a simple question - I have searched, Googled & asked other players & had dfferent responses. So I thought I'd check here.

3 of my alts are in a coropration which has been war dec'd. I was thinking of leaving the corp anyway & their response (or in actual fact lack of it) to the war dec has simply confirmed my thinking.

I have resigned my toons roles in the corp & am awaiting the 24 hour cool-down timer to expire. At the expiration of the timer, if I resign from the corp does the war dec follow me?

Thanks for the response (direct & to the point).

You were right - although a part of me does feel bad about leaving my old corp mates, but if they are not going to fight back staying there seemed pointless.

No. The confusion from this is due to your having to drop roles for 24 hours. When dropping roles you are still in the corp. Thus a valid target. The minute you change corps you in theory are no longer a wartarget. Some glitches and hiccups exist, such as a small delay of up to an hour (throwing a random time out there for safety's sake...most I've seen is 10 minutes at most), but the mechanic is sound and straight to the point.

Im pretty sure we have killed WTs in the past the day after they left corp, this is what i thought to?!?

Yeah, I killed people in NPC corps too then see them complaining that they already left their corp that we had originaly war decced. Might just be a small delay, I just thought it might be logical that the same rules apply when leaving a war as when it gets droped.
