Problems with EVE and Windows 8

I run Windows 8 as an OS. Every time I windows out and try get back in I get a black screen and then the game client shuts down. I am also unable to run the game in windows mode, it always shuts the game client down when I try to change the setting. Does not matter if I try to change this at login, character selection, or in game. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Go back to windows 7, Windows 8 is another Windows Millennium. Total garbage.

There is nothing wrong with windows 8... I have actually found a FPS increase in almost every game that I have played on it...

You need to use the "fixed windowed" as stated above. I run three monitors with a client on the left, and middle, while my right monitor is used for TS/websites... I run 1920x1080 fixed

Have run it on Win8 and found Eve to be faster. People who haven't used it shouldn't knock it.

I've been running Eve on windows 8 for a few months now.

No problems at all.

I'm running in fixed window mode.

Win8 is absolute junk. My spouse got a new laptop for Christmas, and I refuse to touch it. That OS is nigh-unusable.

Optimistically, given the outcry regarding Win8, Win9 will backpedal and reintroduce some of the old features that were culled from more successful Microsoft platforms. Otherwise, I may never buy a new PC again. Ugh

been running eve online with win 8 since release. no issues what so ever!

My only issue with Windows 8 and eeve was sound. But that was a Windows service piping up constantly and spiking the PCI latency. I think it may be my motherboards implementation of Intel Raid that does it to be honest, and it may of been fixed in a patch. I dont know.

For now, windows 8 stays in a virtual machine.

I've been on Win 8 since they first let me download it for 40.00 on sale last year. have had no problems.

run in fixed window mode.

As many said above just try fixed window mode, should work like a charm.

If the Metro interface makes you puke (like me) just check this out and make a Win7 with your Win8 but better energy management and way faster than Win7

I have windows 8 and don't have this problem.

In fact I haven't had any problems on win8 so far.

I use Win 8.. found it much better when running multiple Eve clients (I usually have 4 open)

Psh, I still use Vista because its stable as hell and oh so much better than most people realize.

But yeah, Win8 is a clusterfuck and I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. I might dual-boot 7.

Windows 8 is excellent and some of the new features are quite useful.

The UI is garbage and unfortunately negates any of the improvements. However.. that is easily fixed ;)

OK, I guess I didn't make it clear when I said it won't let me run in windowed mode. That includes fixed window. If I go to settings, change it to windowed or fixed windowed, as soon as I hit apply, client shuts down. With the 'CCP client has stopped working' error.
This is the only game that I have this issue with. All other games work perfectly.
