Slightly misleading title :P

"US media reports suggest that Israeli warplanes have launched an air strike inside Syria."

A man of genius makes no mistakes. His errors are volitional and are the portals of discovery.

It's been the same story for over a thousand years.

I don't expect a change anytime soon.

Correction: It's been that way since the British shipped a bunch of Jews into Israel. Also briefly during the crusades. The region was pretty damn stable during the Caliphates, which lasted centuries.

Long story short, outside nations deciding how locals should draw their borders never fixes anything, and creates deep-running problems. Even worse when they ship more outsiders in.

From my sources Syria is playing the "What strike" card? To retain some level of pride, and it occurred in Lebanon. Nothing will happen bar the usual sabre rattling.

As for this, for the love of god please read up on the situation, or even better, visit the area. Because there is so much wrong with this i dont even know where to start and im not going to bother as arguing on the internet never changed anything.

To all those who have never visited the region but consider themselves armchair experts, i suggest a visit. Its amazing seeing people see it in a different light after. I suggest a nice long chat with the Druze... lovely people the Druze.

Now, ISD please lock this before it goes down in flames.

I've been there. You're talking to someone who has lived on 6 continents and visited more countries than I can remember.

How familiar are you with the Fatimid Caliphate? With a few exceptions, you'd be very surprised how tolerant of other religions the Caliphates were.
