Collectors Edition EU Pricing

Is anyone else interested in getting some form of explanation / breakdown to how and why exactly CCP decided to do the overly simplistic step of 1:1 conversion rate between € and $ when pricing the Collectors edition?

If you think VAT is the reason, then a 20% (average EU VAT) increase on the US $150 would result in $180, which is €140. Add onto this the fact that Americans have the option to avail of Amazons free shipping while I can't see that for EU customers, it costs €8 to ship to my location. That's paying €158 ($207)

I am on the line about buying this, I know that a CE is at premium and a means of a customer showing their support above and beyond the norm, however it is hard to do this when the very act of buying the item is an endorsement of thoughtlessness by the very company they seek to support.

I do not like the idea of paying another €18 simply because "LOLeurope". I would say our American friends would be just as pissed if they decided to charge an extra PLEX worth for no good reason other than "LOLamerica".

Maybe there is a good reason, I would like to see this good reason. I want to know I'm going to be supporting a company that has a bit more thought than 1:1 conversion math.

(Side note, my heart goes out to internationals who cant get this at all, at least I have the option.)

Blame it on your ancestors. If they hadn't let those uppity colonists form their own country, you wouldn't have this situation.

Still comes up short, also the shipping options we don't appear to have means it costs more to get.

So 20% on the US price converted to euro is cheaper than the EU price as euro (Which tax is included in the price).

The point was that EU price cost more even if you treated the US price the same way.

If tax difference was the only reason for it to cost more, applying the same tax to the American value should result in something equal to the EU price. But it does not.

The EU price already includes local VAT, in the case of the Uk this is about 25 Euros so the real price is 149.99-25 = 125 Euros base price.

That makes the UK base price about £106 (based on £1=1.17 Euro), the GBP equivalent of $149.99 is about £97 (based on £1 = 1.54)

Postage to the UK is a further 10 Euros (inc VAT).
