CCP redesign the Dominix model with this one?

I mean, I know you've already implemented one from the same author, but the quality of this battleship and its fidelity to Gallente design philosphy is just too great to ignore. Do the Dominix a favor.

Also look at the artists 'Strix' and 'Son of Sajuuk', breathtaking.

CCP should hire this artist or at least freelance them.

Only if they let the community vote the winners from a selection made by a group of devs/artists/players. I can remember some painful contest some time ago.

I'm extremely tired of people trying to get CCP to throw out an iconic design that a lot of people enjoy just because they don't like it and because they found a picture on deviantart.

The Domi is a 200-year old, mass produced workhorse, it's not the brand new sleek, sexy, sportscar, that's the Megathron, it's not a hulking muscle car, that's the Hyperion.

The Dominix is a van.

Sure vans get updated over time and new models come out, but they don't exactly suddenly get pretty, they're built for function, not form. Now I'm sure people will think of linking things like this to say that vans can be awesome too, but those are modded vans, something the crazy van enthusiasts would do, but behind all that paint and modding, it's just a van. It's nothing special to look at, but it does it's job.

Of course, the Domi could do with a touchup, there's a lot of unused space on the front of it that could be more interesting, and it's not exactly functional as a van right now, since it doesn't have any doors (drone bays.) The Sin could probably be made kind of interesting by going with the idea of what a bunch of crazy Dominix enthusiasts (CreoDron) would do when given the opportunity to pimp out the Domi.

However, CCP shouldn't throw out the DomiVan just to replace it with a sportcar someone found, or in this case a muscle car, or a Caldari ship, or a Minmatar ship, or god knows what some of the suggestions I've seen for updating the Domi even are.

tl;dr: That's a very nice ship, but it's not the Domi, the Domi is a van, and even if it gets updated, it should stay a van, not a muscle car.

Honestly I don't even understand the complaints, the Domi isn't ugly, it's not pretty or sexy, but it's not ugly either, it's just... the Domi.

You have an issue with how the Domi looks? That's your opinion and you're allowed it.

But it is just your opinion.

Yes, the Domi could do with a little update, but a total redesign is the wrong way to go.

Please leave the Domi's overall shape alone for all of us that are very happy with its functional looks.



Yes, that's a lovely design for a ship, but it just isn't a Domi.

But they are redoing the Apoc model, why can't they touch the Domi exactly? Not re do it entirely but at least make it look like something else than a space potato, no?

Leave the domi alone. If you look at it you will see it actually has some of the best textures. Functional look is good. If it was an aircraft it would be a Sea King.

These player modeled ships are UBER and so much better than most of actuall old ships... it would be nice to see them all ingame... meaby use more than one model for a same ship and let player to pick which one wants to built ?

I tried to spin that one in the OP's link; it didn't work. I think its a sign that the Domi should be left alone.

The general model of the Dominix is fine.

It just needs to be updated like what CCP did with the Apocalypse and it'll be prettier than ever. I'm particularly looking forward to the Domi getting a physically visible drone bay on the model like the megathron has. And then maybe some model improvements to make it look sleeker and sharper.

Dont like that one at all. Uglier than the space tater. Which is hard for me to say because I hate it so goddamn much.

Also, didnt realize the guy who made the oracle could draw something as ugly as that <:/
