So i remember hearing CCP Seagull mention something about raids in the future.

So how to do it?

I think since moon goo is still in place any POS that has that module attached should be opened up to some sort of raiding. An idea is if the POS shields are dropped to 75% (or some % or perhaps when reinforced) it opens up certain modules to be raided, allowing the attacker to take x% of whatever is held. I think this would open up a lot more stratagies for smaller coalitions/allainces/corps to strike up a few weight classes. It would allow for more stratagies in campaigns to be done.

This would spur more spontanouse combat. Instead of the current reinforce x pos/station in hopes they defend it on the next timer with a force that is engagable. Combat would be more fluid and open up more chances for mistakes to be made leading to epic fights.

What do you guys think?

I think that you don't know how much EHP a POS tends to have.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure how practical the concept can be. Obviously, if it's a matter of force projection, larger corps would be able to 'raid' smaller corps easier.

Some use of hacking would be nice. But as of right now, interactions like this aren't about finesse, unless it's through the use of alts. I'd like to see more than just 'go here, shoot this'.

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?

The % of damage to the POS is immaterial this is a high level not a detailed idea that will likely never even be read by CCP. Also small alliances/corps tend to not own the good moon goo. It would benefit the smaller guys a lot more than larger ones since the larger ones own a vastly higher % of moons.

That said something like this would be a great way to further integrate DUST514 into eve.
You can play with the damages that needs to be done before raiding can occur. But another layer of defense could also be applied to alleviate the structure grind. POS's even pocos (not sure on this one) for that matter could have defense contracts with dust corps. When an attack happens an alert could be sent to the dust corp players detailing an attack is immineint that they can go defend against the attack. if no one claims the contract or corp on the contract don't come a pub group could be sent. This would only be for POS's that have modules that are elligible for raiding and all low-null sec poco's (again not sure on poco's)

For the attacker the same could be true, they could have a contract up with a dust corp for the attack. Once the POS or POCO is elligible for a raid a 1-5 minute timer starts for dust players to be sent. after the 1-5 minutes a 10-20 minute round starts in dust. If the attacker wins the round they get the loot, if the dusties fail well then better luck next time and perhaps a reinforment style clock start before it's elligible for attack again.

I think this would be badass. They could also make the clones needed for dusty respawn needing to be held in the POS and also by the raiding fleet. It would be interesting for sure.
