Unanimous? Should you not base your decisions on more than what 10 players of the 50k subscriber base says? Don't get me wrong, It's a good Idea but I wouldn't call It unanimous as far as the entire playerbase is concerned (as early as you did anyway). Kind of like reading the first 10 votes of an election that all chose the same person and saying "we will go with this guy because it's what everyone clearly wants".

Yeah... anyway... I'm going to bed.

Make it so

A war that would’ve involved 20,000 players, 75% of nullsec space, and hundreds of supercapitals was halted not by diplomacy, but by a game mechanic so dreadful that those who have experienced it previously have no desire to do so again. - Fix POS & SOV

This trailer will make an excellent intro video. Even my non-eve playing friends like it better than the pseudo philosophy intro we got now.

Considering how rarely they base creative decisions on what any of us say, this is arguably an improvement.

Besides, it's a ******* awesome trailer. Who could possibly think replacing the dull intro we have now with this is a bad idea?

Ofc this one has to be the new intro, it has some of the vibe of the old storyline intro. Big smile

I'd make a recommendation thought, if it isn't too much trouble:

Swap the chick in the video with the player's character.

Imagine seeing your character "wake up" and then exit the station in his rookie ship.

for everyone who has watched this trailer, i have a question, is the new trailer better than our intro? would this trailer be better at delivering the message what eve is as our current intro currently does?

personally i believe it is, it does a way better job at explaining the backstory. the way cloning/'dieing' works. It does a great job at showing the war between the factions (honestly wtihout naming them but thats not really important for an intro, ppl will learn the names on the character creation screen). Furthermore it shows action, it shows the connection to dust and gets ppl interested into that too.

so what do you guys think, whats your opinion? should or could this replace our trailer? maybe with a few additions?

replace the current, but extend the combat scenes, i want to see the orbital artillery take out another mothershipTwisted

+1

Regarding the DUST footage in the trailer, I think it's a net plus for everyone. Regardless of how awesome you make spaceship - focused trailers, there's always going to be players who find the EVE gameplay not for them once they start the game actual. Better to sell New Eden the universe as a whole - Lore, gameplay, and all - and let new players realize that they can get in the action in more than just one way.
