Just an idea about possible solution to local

Recently I came up with an idea how to solve "local" problem. Here it is:
- make local work everywhere in Eve just like in wh space
- in space every ship would have installed proximity scanner, which detects only warping through it's range and jumping in objects. It would work similar to dscan already known in game, giving intel automatically every 1 second within several AU sphere around the ship, with no specified data about incoming vessels. Basically, it would work just like motion scanner from alien vs predator game series.

Sorry for my bad english. Feel free to comment.

There is no "local problem" to solve.

This is not the forum subsection you are looking for.

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

So, basically your new "idea" is to eliminate local and to recommend people use dscan? Really? I hope you didn't hurt yourself with that monumental brain activity.

Oh, and I hadn't heard that there was a "local problem"... perhaps you could let us all know what the "local problem" is. Like the cloaky afk "problem", I don't get this one, either...

So how do smacktalk the panties off all the FW farmers when they warp out of our 'scan range'? Big smile

I have yet to notice a "local problem" but since you seem to have put your opinions in a bullet-like format I am convinced.

Here's a secret for ya: the farmers don't give a crap. Once they warp off they're already on to the next plex without a second thought to you. Cool

If you don't like local just minimize the window. Those that like it can keep it open.

that it exists.

it needs to be delayed.
1min delay in LS, 5min delay in NS.

way too much

fix dscan. make it better with more details at closer ranges, and expands the max range

then add in a 1 server tick delay for each sec ovl below 1.0 once you jump in

so 6 to 9 sec delay for low. 10 seconds for null

more than enough time to catch people that dont pay attention. plenty fast enough of an update that 9/10 times no one would notice

The devs usually have allot more sense than the players when it comes to this game.

Well I hope that kills any more nerf local rubbish! I would however love a new region of space without local and the intel that you get in the maps and see how that develops, this would be great and if someone could ask that then a lot of us would be interested to see a reaction on that.

As for time delay, if the devs just made it so pilots did not show a couple of seconds in local before they actually arrive and can do anything that would be an improvement, but any time delay above that is helping the weak get kills they should not.

Jack Milton, you really need as long as that, wow!

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Doesn't that space already exist. I do believe they call it mollusk space or something like that. A dark quiet expanse of space where there are no set connection bridges and all Intel is gathered by hand. And all that you'll find is the hard shells of the POS shields as you dscan around.

I know I read about that somewhere.
