Absolutely fantastic. Thank you.
I like orchestral music anyway (John Williams and the like, plus a bit of Bach and a few other old school composers) and I have to say, this was definitly up there.

And in one swift move, the handlebar cellest has become famous. I wonder if he knows yet? Damn that was one epic moustache and beard...!

That beard/mustache combo is actually called a "Van Dyke".

Edit: A 'handlebar' is the "straight down on the sides" mustache as seen on stereotypical bikers.

Firstly, yes what he is sporting is a type of Van Dyke. Van Dykes are similar to a connected beard and moustache, but the moustache and the beard are not attatched. But people are not calling him the Van Dyke cellist are they? P

Secondly, if you are going to correct someone, at least get your facts straight. A handlebar moustache does not go straight down to the sides. Handlebar moustaches are actually curled upwards and are quite lengthy (it was named after it resembling old fashioned handlebars on a bike I believe).

So actually, the man in the picture is technically sporting a handlebar moustache...

Ahhhyh semantics Lol

Edit...spelling grrr...

You are correct on this point: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handlebar_moustache

But wrong on this point: Van Dyke

Cellist modified a Van Dyke.

Bitchyness not intended at all, more friendly advice. Some one here don't take well to being corrected wrongly so I was along the lines of just watch out who you try and correct or you end up with a lot of people bashing you via the forums...

I did put "ah semantics" for a reason though Lol sarcasm doesnt work well via text speech I guess haha...

Anywho, not gonna clog up this thread any longer Big smile

Just adding one more thank you for adding this event to the streaming videos.

CCP's sand box is EVE Online.  The sand is owned by CCP.  We pay them a monthly fee to throw the sand at each other.  That is all that is here, so move along. Nothing more to be seen.

Just say that someone was wrong and demonstrate why,....not "if, if, if.....". That's all. Too much smacks of hostility on these forums already.

Ah yes, second track is very recognisable :) Maybe I had to play in 2003 to recognise the first.

Yes, you had to :) I couldn't quite place the Didgeridoo intro, but with added instruments I immediately remembered (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdFzJVlu41k - launcher of 2003, the first video I could find)

That evening truly was an "I was there" moment. And in the middle of the second row it could hardly get any better.

Well, they oughta know what to do with them hogs out there for shure.

Thanks for that! Yeah I like how they converted it into the symphony version. Shame I never got to hear that one in Eve as didn't start until a bit later. I bet it was nice for the really old veterens though.

So, I'm a pretty new player so, the symphony didn't have the same nostalgia value that it has to many of you vets but, I still found it absolutely awesome! I really enjoyed it. It was a great piece of music! It's cool to hear music inspired by space exploration/combat and the game. The combination of the EVE video and the live music was awesome. Good job CCP!
