Keep moving or be found you cloaker hiders!

Only valid argument against afk cloaking is that you are as save as if you were docked. But you shouldn't be absolutely save outside the warmth of a station's womb.

Even sitting afk in a deathstar POS has some minimal risk, even if it involves a fleet of caps popping the POS from right under you if you sit there long enough with little enough strontium. Next to nil, but still there.

A save spot can't be destroyed though and you are always 100% when cloaked. And you shouldn't because you've clicked 'undock' and that should raise risk of destruction above nil.

But its not nill. You could be decloaked by a passing ship or just not fully activate your cloak before going afk. Prolly about the same odds as dying in a deathstar actually.

this is a total waste of time, once you somehow were to get afk cloaking fixed, how will you fix AFK speeding? and then what about someone just putting up a small POS and afking inside the shields?

Cynos get a bandwidth that needs to spool up for a few seconds before a ship can jump through, if the cyno ship gets popped, the cyno collapses. Some ships can get a bonus on bandwidth generation and/or bandwidth volume. Cynos can come in different sizes with different maximum bandwidth, volume generation rate and fuel usage, as well as different tech levels.

Yeah. But you're not always cloaked. You can be decloaked warping around, landing on gates, etc. Cloakies get caught in null all the time, in spite of their tricks. And while it is true that when you are cloaked you are under no direct threat of harm, you also pose no direct threat to anyone else, either. That's the trade off. A cloaked ship with an AFK player is, by definition, no threat to anyone at all, ever, until the pilot sits back down.

If your client crashes or disconnects you decloak and emergency warp . That is way more dangerous than having a disconnect in a station or POS.

Simple solution: Have cloaking for more than 5 minutes remove you from local. No one will ever complain about an AFK cloaker again.
