Fast Talk Skill- Useless

So back when I was a highsec dweller (of which there are no benefits to being, other than hiding because violence is scary) I used to roam in low-sec for actual fun in my life. At the time I had this wrong notion that a highsec was necessary, and thus trained Fast Talk to augment my sec status.

Well now that I've been hovering at -9.7 sec status for a while, and wondering how I still am not -10 after popping idiots in their pods. Well, It's that vistigial fast talk skill from ages ago!

I thought that the bonus was to battleship ratting increase, but instead it's for my sec status itself.

I wonder if CCP will consider removing this skill so that the badge of competency (being -10) can finally be worn by deserving capsuleers.

Thoughts?

Should CCP change things to compensate for a users inability to comprehend a reasonably straight forward sentence?

I dumped my learning skills into Fast Talk V when they were reimbursed. Best decision of my EVE career.

Can't wait to dual box my Dust toon and EVE toon on the same machine!

For People seeking NOT to be -10, the skill is very relevant.
For People seeking to be -10, the skill is useless.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

My compatriots have never had a problem with going to -10, even with Fast Talk trained to IV. You just suck at what you do, or you don't do it enough.

Using a weapon as a deterrent in a diplomatic situation is only viable when you have proven that you have deployed it in the past and are willing to use it in the future.

Obviously if you read my above post I know that it was my intent to use it for its intended purpose. My point being that every standing in the game can be altered with enough grinding, in this case , grinding by killing pods of bad players. this skill, irreversible, prevents a desired standing increase and thus should be altered.

You'll still get to -10. Just try harder.

Pod yourself in an Alpha Clone enough and you might get what you wish for.

(For that matter, I have all Social Skills at Level 5 and still cannot get higher than 9.8 towards Ammatar Mandate no matter how many missions I run.)

The skill is meant for increasing your sec status. I think your confused on how it works. It isn't like connections skill, more like the social skill but affects sec status instead. If you want to get to -10 then obviously it of no use to you, but won't do you any harm either unless you rat all day.

Fast skill at 5 is nice to have. When you are grinding sec up its effect is noticeable but if you're "accidentally" getting sec status increases just balance it out by popping a random pod here or there in high sec. Lol
