Don't really know what's going on here, other than a bug ?

The container in front of the acceleration gate ( towards me ) is 19 KM away
while the gate itself is only 8000 M away

The Gate has a much bigger box, where you are at zero. Try it with the sun or a planet, there you can see this effect better.

You managed to bend space but not time.

Or did you fold it? Don't tell me you folded it.

baltec; only an issue if he creased the fold. Please don't crease the fold. It takes a lot of work to come out. :/

Working as intended.

It's a collision box issue. Mission warp gates have abnormally large collision boxes compared to their physical size. Stations have this effect as well.

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

I like it, because this way you can warp to zero to something an start fighting instead of being stuck in a structure unable to move for 5 minutes until you bug out of it. And no it's not the collision box. It's just a bigger box where you are at zero.
