If there were EMP missiles, couldn't you use a defender missile to "negate" it?

I never claimed that it was balanced. What is proposed here is the concept of a long cooldown module that can be used as a counter or 'wildcard' when timed and used properly.

This is an attempt to introduce a new (although already present in modules already mentioned) aspect to combat and move away from the current "I turn everything on, and you turn everything on, and lets watch red bars appear until one of us wins" combat mentality.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the current combat system. The I love the pre-engage dance, the range dance, everything right up to the actual commit when you realize he doesn't have module X to counter your Y, your both pointed, and you either just wait it out and see who wins or see if your 100m/s speed bonus is enough to burn out of range before you explode.

Just trying to put forward something a little more dynamic.

It's the same thing as having everyone just overheat everything, you just add an Op wild card that prevents someone from fighting back and tanking instantly.
