Tech 1 Battleships - How do you see them?

As they're currently looking at changing how each BS performs, I think it's time we, the user, post what we would like to see each BS used for.

This is not a "oh your idea sucks, it should be blah, blah blah" - It's what each person envisages the roles of the ships as.
Not worried about ship bonuses or anything else - just how you see their primary role as.

I'll start the ball rolling:

Amarr:
  • Apoc - Long range hitter
  • Abaddon - Close~Mid range Brawler
  • Geddon - Utility BS (tanker, neuter, etc)

  • Caldari:
  • Rokh - Long range hitter
  • Raven - Close range brawler
  • Scorp - Utility BS (ewar, etc)

  • Gallente:
  • Hyp - Mid~Long range hitter
  • Mega - Close range brawler
  • Domi - Utilty BS (drones, tanker, etc)

  • Minmatar:
  • Mael - Mid~Long range hitter
  • Pest - Close~Mid range brawler
  • Phoon - Utility BS (repper, drones, etc)

  • As you can see, each ship now has a specific use & are ALL useful in a fleet.

    So how do YOU see where each ship fits?

    I think you made a very, very serious error when you labeled the Hyperion as a long range hitter.

    The main changes i want to see to battleships
    -more tank.... certainly more than navy battlecruisers get
    -less mass
    -Easier fittings
    -better cap regen especially gallente and amarr

    Scorp should be a torp brawler like its navy variant but better tracking instead of resist bonus.

    'Tech3 ships need to be put down, like a rabid dog drooling everywhere in the house, they are out of line' CCP Ytterbium Nerf missile range into place where is the TD missile change?  ..projectiles should use capacitor. ABC's should be T2 HABC and nerf web strength its still too high

    Blaster Rokh > Torp raven







    Rokh can do both and its great for it and raven is just a raven a shell of its former self

    Huh? What's it going to do with better tracking if it's a torp boat?

    I think you have a couple spots off there.

    Minmatar - The weapons systems are based upon Projectiles then Missiles, not drones.
    Amarr - Weapons here should be more Lasers then Drones. That's their secondary system.

    That's the old standards on their usage and how they are being revamped for lower tiers of ships and what not.

    I only really have considerations for Caldari these days for some reason.

    Rokh: Longer ranged (using both railguns and blasters) high defense general day wrecker.

    Raven: 99,300,000 ton freight train from nowhere (Fast, hurts a lot, not necessarily as solid as the Rokh or Scorpion- definitely aided by target painters being present on it's targets, but DOES NOT REQUIRE THEM IN ORDER TO BE USEFUL AS DESIGNED. This should happen.) It should have a role bonus for 100MN microwarpdrive cap usage, to allow it to actually make use of the module. Valid as both a cruise missile kiter (not sniper), or a torp brawler (again, without needing 15 target painters to do damage to anything that isn't a POS. That's clearly an exaggeration but you get my point.)

    Scorpion: Combat battleship. Weapon bonuses that allow use of either hybrids or missiles but incentivizing using only one or the other. Could be a less powerful but faster and more agile Rokh, or a tougher but slower Raven. An actual dronebay is haphazardly attached to it.

    I'm not very happy about the Amarr changes. The Geddon in particular. It's going to be a beast of a ship, yes, but it's just not very AMARR. I really hope that the Navy BS balance stays true to their original forms, so we at least have those ships for the traditional style.

    In a more general sense, I think battleships either need more EHP or more mobility- preferably the second. They don't need to be on-grid sprinters by any means, but they should be able to keep up with a roaming gang in terms of align time if they fit a nano or two (basically, nano bs should = non-nano BC, so they don't get laughed out of fleets). They're simply not that useful in general pvp. They are basically PVE and Stucture Bash boats, and I don't see this update doing anything to change that.

    How do I see, or how do I want to see them? How other people want to see them? I.e. not randomly shuffled around already established ship roles by the brainless decree of ololopvpeer?

    when i say tracking do you think guns?... LOL missiles have to track aswell

    I like the idea of each race having a long range hitter but gallente pilots will never use the hype for that simply because rails suck so badly its not even funny. Sad

    So you mean better explosion velocity and/or explosion radius rather than better tracking, right? I may be mistaken all these years but I didn't think missiles were modified by tracking bonuses or tracking modules.
