Blaster, Gallente and its issues.

I've been eyeing the arguments and the proposed fixes to the whole blasters/gallente issues, and I do have a solution I'd like to see considered.

Basically, the problem with gallente is that their ships are slow and heavilly tanked, and count on blasters for face-melting DPS.

However, in the universe of EVE DPS isn't only acheived by means of your main weapons, given that everyone has drones.

I propose, that given that Drones are the supposed speciality of Gallente, and while their drones are indeed better, that all gallente hulls receive the extra bandwidth/skill to fit a number of aditional drones.

Basically, I have no idea on how many drones it'd take to actually even the matter out, but... Instead of fixing a weapon, and a whole range of ships who's issue is being slow, why not amplify its racial supposed expertise by allowing them more drones?

The drones will add options (ECM, Damage, repair), aswell as slowly evening up the field, since it puzzles me on why all ships have the same number of drones and the same ability to launch drones. This is especially humourous on Drone carriers.

In essence one of the biggest issues for gallente boats (and caldari, but lets not think both issues have the same answer), is the lack of ranged damage due to blasters. Having more drones inscreases that damage over the entire range of engagement and plays on the gallente supposed strenght.

TL;DR version: Give Gallente hulls one or two, or even three more drones than non gallente hulls. They will help a lot in damage projection.

Gallente have drone boats and turret boats. They have two weapon types Hybrid and Drone.

This is much like Caldari has Missile boats and turret boats as their race is split Hybrid/Missile.

With the new hybrid fixes coming out they are making hybrid turret ships faster and more agile. They are increasing tracking and falloff for hybrids as well. I dont remember reading anything about damage for rails though.

Considering drones are the only weapon system your enemy can destroy m... you may not want to have every ship in a race be reliant on them completely. Especially with the introduction of Smartbombs a few years ago.

Ah that came out while my region of America had no power, thanks for the link as this furthers my previous reply - although I was wrong with falloff (was going off previously released numbers from a test build).

I cant wait to check out these new hybrids as I can then switch focus on what I have to complain about with EVE Big smile
