Mission Weirdness

I'm enjoying parts of Eve, but the missioning system is really starting to **** me off. It seems really buggy. I'm doing the Sisters of Eve campaign because I'm supposed to be able to make isk while seeing most of the cluster, but I'm ready to quit after the third mission. This guy who apparently lives in a beacon tells me to go back to the sisters after I kill some pirates and deliver a frozen dead guy. It looks like a mission, but there is no "accept" button. I go to the sister anyway. She says "I have noting for you." I have to go back to the bashful guy hiding in the beacon, but I'm afraid I still won't see an accept button and I don't want to waist the time.

Is the Sisters of Eve campaign worth my time, or should I just go join a corp, even though I don't have the (game) skills figured out yet?

Two part response:

First, your mission.
Judging by what you describe, what it sounds like to me is that you have accepted the mission, but not completed some parameter for it yet. To tell if this is accurate, I suggest opening your journal and going to the 'missions' tab. Your current mission should be listed either is "accepted" or "offered" depending on what stage you are at currently.

Second, joining a corp.
There is absolutely -nothing- wrong with joining a corp before you fully understand the game. Assistance from another player is more valuable than any guide, and will make the whole game a lot more fun. If you are specifically looking for a corp to help you learn, I suggest perhaps joining EVE University; alternately, there are plenty of other corps out there who'd be happy to have you and help you learn.

I second Esna on this. Joining a corp will teach you more about the game than missions ever will. You will be thrown into the world of emergent gameplay. For some suggestions you can have a look at the following corps:
For PVP: Try either RvB or Brave Newbies.
For Wormholes: Try any of the Talocan United corps.
For almost anything else: Try EveUni

As far as the missions go, they are pretty bad and not really a focus of the game in all honesty. If you really want to finish the SOE arc, then file a petition with CCP and report exactly what is happening in as much detail as possible.

Thanks all. I've never done roleplaying, but it appeals to me. I think I need a Minmatar corp willing to teach me while engaged in faction warfare. Anyone looking for a low-skilled scout/stealth bomber?

Silly question.

I have just finished the tutorial Missions.

How do I get these Sisters of Eve missions?

Well for one at the bottom of the last few mission descriptions there should have been reference to where it started and who to talk to.

But I'll throw it at you anyway; it's in Arnon and at the only Sisters of EVE station in the system.
