Clouds and FPS

I am aware, that those weird, glitchy particle clouds that can be found in missions, anomalies and so on are kind of an FPS killer on Windows as well, but the FPS loss on linux/wine seems especially severe for me. Whereas I can get about 150-180 FPS (with vsync/interval turned off) in deep space, and still a good 50 or 60 in fleet, my framerate crashes down to 15-20 in a simple anomaly that has one of these damned clouds.

No ingame setting seems to have any significant influence, so do you know of any tricks or workarounds that help with this issue?

I am running wine 1.5.24 on gentoo, nvidia 313.30

Last time I checked there was no way to avoid this bug. CCP are aware of it though. I managed to solve it by buying a new graphics card though.

I use radeon hd7950 with catalyst driver. Works perfectly with maxed settings and 2560x1440 resolution.
