Is anyone getting involved with this and are there any EVE players forming a corp within the game? I'm looking forward to getting into this game.

I'm a big fan of EVE and War Thunder and this game looks like a great inbtween, get in contact if you'd like to get organised for this years alpha.

I can see the War Thunder in space aspect (btw I looked that up and it looks fun, thanks for the reference), but like eve it is not. First and foremost this game will have servers and private ones at that so no single shard interaction. Because of the separate servers I don't foresee any eve style market. From what I've read the physics will be very different as in no more space subs but rather twitch play. And from what I can see, at least for the start, there is really nothing larger than a heavy 2 man fighter (I think there may have been a 3 man ship in there). About the most that these 2 games have in common is that they are in space.

Not especially interested in the game beyond the Tech Demo sense .

CryEngine's system requirement is too high for the average consumer .
I can see Star Citizen being a ritualistic trial by fire , same as the kind of people that eats pancakse for breakfast 3 months straight to convince themselves its not a waste of money .
I don't really see it will be particularly successful in the long run due .

Shame .

The game is not due for full release till 2015 where your average PC rig will handle the engine. It was fairly smart of them to think that part through.

The game will have several modes including a single player story game, private battle servers and of course an EVE style MMO. I'm interested in the MMO part myself but that is at least 1 whole year off still. Yes the ships are small but for me that is not a problem, I'm more down for the Firefly 5 man crew sort of RP anyhow.

The ships, small? Are you aware that the Bengal class carrier will be flyable and fully walkable?

Flyable in the same way a Titan is flyable or flyable as in I can get and afford to lose them in the same amount of time I can get and afford to lose Battleships in EVE.

Because if 99.99% of the game is fighters and 1 carrier in a blue moon then it is a small ship game. If their are other ships that are like a hundred or hundreds of meters long that are common then it isn't.

EvE people are different though, they tend to run dual core cpu's and use integrated audio / gpu's provided on the mobos.

That alone, says it all.

And then they QQ about gas clouds in the EvE Universe killing their gameplay.

Tried that, that comp died.

I am using GTX 460 now, no more integrated gpu for me.

I got a thread in General discussion about how EvE player base specs are chopping their own legs off , but meh .
It doesn't get that much attention.
As much as its the developers' fault for mediocre engine sophistication , the consumers also have a fair share of the burden .

But I have to admit , something is wrong with EvE's gas clouds . Not really sure if its particle based procedual generation or what.
