Issues, Workarounds & Localization

So yesterday, I started having this problem with the client, and I'm somewhat desperate because I have to resort to play in another machine because I can't seem find the root of the problem

I hope someone can give me clues as to what it might be.

I don't believe it has anything to do with the router, since I'm using another computer in the same network right now to play the game.

I also booted into windows 8 safe mode in order to figure out if it was another program blocking the client, such as a firewall or anything else, however it still returned me the same message.

I've also cleared the cache and settings, done a reinstall of the client but still, it continues giving me that message


It's strange because the launcher can download the patches and can even show that the server is online as well as the number of players. When the client starts, it also shows that the tranquility server is online and the number of players in it but when I insert the password and hit enter, not even the authentication part lingers or anything, it immediately shows the message "The connection to the server was closed."

The only thing I did the last time to this computer prior to this happening was install the openvpn client, which I franquily don't think its the problem since the service isn't running and installed a couple of windows 8 updates so I find it really strange how from one day to another, it just simply stopped working correctly

If any of you seem to have had this error and got it fixed please let me know! As I really don't know what to do next :|
