i guess the question was not about tactics or warfare. This was more general question about FW.

Personally i like it. After 0.0 and high-sec i have the most fun times now.

FW gives a space for:
- PVE - missions + plexes (PvE + PvP which is good)
- PvP - solo, gangs, fleets...
- SOV and strategy - not as boring as in 0.0
- all areas of space - you can have PvP even in Jita/Dodixie and other market hubs. You have constant war targets and can fight them everywhere. No need to move to low/0.0 to get PvP.
- LP - small (and sometime even really good) income from "what you like to do": from plexes. from killing targets.

This is exactly where my interest in it is coming from. Being a new guy I am not sure where, when. and how to get started in Amarr though. And I am not sure what it is with FW groups "supposedly" shooting there allies wanting to finish a plex though or why? Any where I can read up on the details or stuff you or others can share? (TY)

I saw this once in Gallente FW. A guy was on a timer and the cruiser fleet I was in went in to get away from a bigger cruiser fleet or something. The guy was pissed because he would have to split the LP with everyone in our fleet. After some very poorly chosen words from both sides the shooting started.

I'm pretty sure our fleet aggressed first, but he was in t3 and knew how to fly, he blapped 2 of the t1 cruisers and we left.

It was actually pretty cool to see first hand, I was brand new to the whole thing and just tried to stay out of the way =-P

This year I did FW with Amarr for a bit, the atmosphere was pretty fast and loose. Younger crowd then I typically play with maybe. There was a lot of reshipping and running around, I found FW to be a bit faster paced than nullsec fights and a lot faster paced than open play lowsec.

"Advent of Faith" was my last FW corp, great group of guys if your interested, with goings on outside of FW to. And not on the CVA kos list if you eventually want to try that out. Honestly though most fleet I got in were out of corp, this in both Gallente and Amarr. So don't worry too much about the specific corp, there's plenty of opportunity to get in fleets just by virtue of being in FW.

Buy a few frigs, get set up on comms, and jump right in.

it's be farmers not wanting to share LP probably, I've warped in to plexes just as the counter got to 10 seconds before and robbed the poor farmer Sad

If you are going to join FW join Minmatar. They faceroll Amarr and Caldari and you gain a 150% LP bonus, which even in the inflated LP market garners you upwards of 100 million isk per hour sitting in a complex orbiting and watching netflix.

Don't worry about them, they don't actually do FW (as far as I know) they keep to their little bit of null.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

In actual PvP its pretty even between Minmatar and Amarr, not sure about Caldari. FW isn't just about plexing.

You join Faction Warfare by docking at a station belonging to the faction you want to join and clicking on the Faction Warfare button in the station menu (Be sure to not be in one of those stations that's owned by a faction but in a different factions space, just in case that space becomes enemy space when you join. Not sure if that makes sense.)

Plexing is pretty much just going to a site, killing the rats, then sitting within a 30km radius of the 'button' which is just an object floating in space, you then sit there waiting for a timer to go down and when thats done you get LP. LP can also be gained from missions which are pretty standard, except anyone can warp into them without needing to scan them down. LP can then be spent on rewards such as Navy Ships and modules and implants.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

Tech 1 and faction frigates are the best for new recruits as you can go into novice plexes and only get combat with those 2 categories, plexes are usually solo and small gang combat and the largest ship size is up to a cruiser with the rare battlecruiser

When you join factional warfare you join the side whose station you initially enlist from. If you want to change militias, or have been in the game long enough for the tutorial offer to run out and your standings are too low, you can form a corp and that corp can join any militia as long the ceo is in the that militias station

Just join Minmatar FW.

Joining a Tier 1 level FW (Amarr or Caldari) will just make you frustrated due to T1 rewards not being worth the time to plex sites to help faction and pvping against warp stabbed ships is also frustrating.
