Missing Turrets and Effects after using Fit option

I was purchasing several fittings for an Ishtar in Jita, the guns which were the 200mm Auto Cannon. I applied the rigs and then used the Fit option from the fitting browser. The entire ship was fitted, but turrets were not visible in the "ship spinning" view (non-captains quarters view). The turrets are also not visible in the Fitting screen where you can spin the ship.
